Worlds 2025: KT Rolster Almost Achieved the Impossible

Before Worlds, many considered KT Rolster the weakest team among the LPL and LCK teams. As the tournament progressed, they continued to prove the doubters wrong. Defeating GenG Esports in the Semi-Finals finally made everyone take notice. They ended one game away from completing the impossible. Only T1 stood in their way. Bdd has cemented himself in the history books despite not lifting the Worlds Trophy.

PerfecT

Total Apex rating – 6.4 (4th among top laners, tied 20th among players)

Champions Played

  • Rumble (5)
  • K’Sante (2)
  • Ornn (2)
  • Rek’Sai (2)
  • Renekton (2)
  • Mordekaiser
  • Sion
  • Yorick

PerfecT was the main talking point for KT, heading into Worlds. He was the weakest player on the roster. His inability to play on the weak side and his shallow champion pool were concerns. He dispelled those throughout the majority of the tournament. He improved significantly, contributing to KT’s miracle run. He would be exposed in the final game of the tournament. He picked Yorick in a bad situation and got targeted by Doran, Oner, and Faker. Despite the struggles in the last game, he had a tournament to be proud of.

Cuzz

Total Apex rating – 6.9 (2nd among junglers, tied 5th among players)

Champions Played

  • Trundle (3)
  • Wukong (3)
  • Dr. Mundo (2)
  • Jarvan IV (2)
  • Poppy
  • Qiyana
  • Sejuani
  • Vi
  • Viego
  • Xin Zhao

Cuzz was the facilitator behind KT’s success. He dominated every jungle opponent that he had during the tournament. He prevented Canyon, Oner, and JunJia from having an impact in the majority of their matches. His Dr. Mundo game in the Final was historical. He went deathless to carry KT on his back to match point. T1 found ways to shut Cuzz down in the final games, demonstrating the pivotal impact he had on KT. Without his performance, KT would have struggled.

Bdd

Total Apex rating – 7.8 (1st among mid laners, 1st among players)

Champions Played

  • Cassiopeia (3)
  • Orianna (3)
  • Ryze (2)
  • Aurora
  • Azir
  • Mel
  • Smolder
  • Syndra
  • Taliyah
  • Yone
  • Zoe

The de facto best player in the tournament. Whenever KT needed Bdd, he performed. He dragged his team from the brink of defeat in game one against GenG. The Yone performance was exceptional. Even with the odds stacking against them in the last two games against T1, Bdd held firm. He did his best to keep them afloat on Cassiopeia, but it was not enough. He even almost clutched on Smolder. The lead was unfortunately insurmountable. Bdd deserves a Worlds trophy, but he will have to wait.

deokdam

Total Apex rating – 6.6 (4th among bot laners, 14th among players)

Champions Played

  • Caitlyn (4)
  • Ezreal (3)
  • Ashe (2)
  • Corki (2)
  • Ziggs (2)
  • Kalista
  • Sivir
  • Varus

deokdam was the ideal secondary carry for KT. He remained consistent at Worlds to allow Bdd and Cuzz the space to be the focal point for KT. He had his own dominant performances, but those were more than those of Bdd. He worked alongside Bdd to bring KT back from the brink against GenG in game one. His Ziggs against CTBC Flying Oyster was exceptional. Unfortunately, he struggled to find his footing in the Finals. He was not terrible by any means, but he rarely contributed, even in KT’s wins.

Peter

Total Apex rating – 6.3 (3rd among supports, tied 22nd among players)

Champions Played

  • Alistar (4)
  • Braum (3)
  • Nautilus (3)
  • Neeko (3)
  • Lulu
  • Renata Glasc
  • Tahm Kench

Peter was the second point of weakness for KT. With it being his first time leaving Korea, he had never experienced this before. Despite the lack of experience, he delivered. He was the second-best Neeko at Worlds, only behind Keria. Even his Renata Glasc performance against GenG was exceptional, akin to Keria. He fell by the wayside in the final two games against T1. He was given the impossible task of playing engage Tahm Kench, and he failed. Even so, he left his mark on the international stage.

KT Rolster Team Review

KT almost pulled off the impossible. They were one game away from lifting the Summoner’s Cup. They only lost four games throughout the tournament. Bdd proved why some considered him better than Chovy. The roster is changing in the upcoming year, and it is unlikely that they will achieve the same results in 2026. Hopefully, Bdd will get his chance to win Worlds in future years.
