Worlds 2025: T1 Versus Invictus Gaming – Defending World Champions Hold Strong
The 2025 Worlds started with the stakes at their highest. A best-of-five series between T1 and Invictus Gaming decided the final team at the Worlds Swiss Stage. T1 managed to secure a 3-1 victory over IG. The defending World Champions were in top form, ensuring they have a chance to defend their trophy. IG showed that they can compete with T1, but crucial mistakes were their downfall in the Play-In series.
Worlds 2025 T1 Versus Invictus Gaming Summary
Game one was in IG’s favor for the majority of it. IG had a gold lead with Infernal Soul and eyed to close out the game. However, an overplay from TheShy gave T1 a route back in. Faker’s Seismic Shoves time and time again caught IG to earn a game one victory.
T1 fought valiantly while behind with a dive composition. T1 had managed to even out the gold, but one missed team fight gave IG the lead they needed to even up the series.
In games three and four, Gumayusi stood tall to help carry T1 to victory. Gala’s Smolder almost got them over the line, but Wei getting caught on Baron allowed T1 to take a 2-1 lead. The final game was a blood bath as IG tried to break ahead, but T1 fought back to win the series.
