League of Legends Esports Worlds 2025/World Championship

Worlds 2025: T1 Versus KT – T1 Surpasses SKT1 and Earns an Incredible 3-Peat

No matter what T1 goes through during the year, they always show up at Worlds. T1 has done it again. They have won three straight Worlds titles for the first time for any team in League history. Faker has won his sixth Worlds Championship trophy. OFGK as a core has been the most dominant core of all time. Credit must go to KT Rolster, who challenged T1 and pushed them to the brink in this series.

Worlds 2025: T1 Versus KT Rolster

Summary

KT prepared dominant openings at level 1 for many of the games. In games one and two, they surged to gold leads. The aggression and coordination from T1 in the teamfights for game one proved too much, allowing them to go 1-0 up in the series.

Game two was a different story as KT held firm against the T1 onslaught. Even at a 10k hold deficit, T1 almost brought it back, but the lead was too high to conquer.

Cuzz locked in Dr. Mundo for the third game and took over the rift. Cuzz led every fight and play for KT to bring them one game away from winning the World Championship.

With their backs against the wall, down 2-1, the clutch T1 came out. They took control of the last two games. Stacking Drakes was the strategy for T1 as Oner stole two of them to get T1 to Soul. They used that to tie the series. In the final game, Doran was entrusted with Camille. Oner gave him multiple ganks to become a threat. Doran had a couple of mistakes that almost cost T1, but the lead was too much for Bdd’s Smolder to overcome. T1 are six-time World Champions.

After a year that saw Gumayusi subbed out in favor of Smash, he is now the Worlds Finals MVP. It was the hardest year of his career, despite already being a two-time World champion. In the post-match interview, he mentioned that he has finally proved himself to himself. Gumayusi was, as always, the most stable player on T1, putting in quality performances, even in T1’s losses. His Miss Fortune in the final game was the piece T1 needed to earn the 3-peat.

KT Push T1 to the Brink

At the start of Worlds, many wrote KT off, us included. Even when they went 3-0 in the Swiss Stage, doubts circled them. They proved time and time again that they deserved the wins. They dominated GenG Esports to advance to the Worlds Finals. They nearly defeated the best organisation of all time. They fell short, but it was an incredible achievement. Peter and PerfecT struggled in the final game, but they had a Worlds and series to be proud of. For Bdd, there has to be another chance on the horizon, but can he get past Faker?
