Worlds 2025: Vivo Keyd Stars Had a Slow RampĀ

In the lead-up to Worlds, Vivo Keyd Stars had numerous issues. From flight issues to a lack of scrims, they had limited preparation. Their initial performance showed their struggles. But as the tournament progressed, the team grew. They outplayed PSG Talon and almost punished a struggling Bilibili Gaming. With those performances, they added to the justification that Brazil must be taken seriously. Hopefully, with the return of CBLOL, Brazil goes to new heights.

Worlds 2025: Vivo Keyd Stars Player Review

Boal

Total Apex rating – 5.9 (11th among top laners, tied 44th among players)

Champions Played

  • K’Sante (2)
  • Sion (2)
  • Ambessa
  • Ornn
  • Poppy

Boal had a stable Worlds performance. He came into the tournament as one of the expected weaker top laners. However, he did not show much weakness, even in their losses. The meta and his player strength did not allow him to be the carry for VKS. However, he was not the reason for the team’s downfall.

Disamis

Total Apex rating – 5.3

Champions Played

  • Jarvan IV (2)
  • Nocturne
  • Pantheon
  • Qiyana
  • Wukong
  • Xin Zhao

For his standards, Disamis had a disappointing Worlds performance. He had higher expectations, but failed to live up to them. His best games came against PSG Talon in their wins. However, he failed to lead from the front in their defeats. Had he stepped up against BLG, perhaps they could have caused the upset.

Mireu

Total Apex rating – 5.9 (11th among mid laners, tied 44th among players)

Champions Played

  • Taliyah (2)
  • Akali
  • Annie
  • Azir
  • Orianna
  • Ryze

Mireu is another player who should have performed better at Worlds, given the expectations. He has the skill to do so. Especially given that he had mid lane matchups that did not punish him heavily. The only series he was not the favourite against was BLG. Knight outperformed him, but that is expected given the Chinese mid laners’ pedigree.

Morttheus

Total Apex rating – 6.0 (tied 7th among bot laners, tied 34th among players)

Champions Played

  • Sivir (2)
  • Yunara (2)
  • Ezreal
  • Kai’Sa
  • Varus

Morttheus stepped up at Worlds. He did not have the same expectations to perform as his mid-jungle. He had carry performances in all of their victories and kept it up even in the loss to PSG. He struggled more against BLG under the pressure of Elk. Morttheus is a player to watch for the future.

Trymbi

Total Apex rating – 4.9 (13th among supports, 77th among players)

Champions Played

  • Bard (2)
  • Alistar
  • Karma
  • Nautilus
  • Rakan
  • Rell

By his standards, Trymbi faltered at Worlds. His only dominant performance came against PSG. In the first game, he had some of the best engagements of the entire tournament. However, he failed to reach those levels. His performance against BLG was the predominant reason why VKS could not topple the struggling LPL seed.

Vivo Keyd Stars Team Review

Expectations for the roster were low heading into Worlds 2025. Even though they qualified as the second seed, they had more to prove. Unfortunately, the opening to the Swiss Stage fell below expectations. They did manage to steady the ship for the remainder, but the damage had been done. Morttheus is a positive to take from Worlds, as he had a breakout performance, despite the team’s struggles.
