In the run-up to BioWare’s new addition to the Dragon Age franchise, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Electronic Arts is offering a 90% discount to players wanting to familiarize themselves with the world of Thedas before the next game’s launch. While major sales like this have become a relative staple among major platforms, like EA, for years now, the news of said discounted prices has sparked a renewed wave of interest in the fifteen-year-old IP.
With its deep lore, engaging storylines, interesting and complex characters, and a world diverse in every way you can imagine, Dragon Age has managed to curate a player base so loyal that even a ten-year gap between games has not been enough to deter them. And with this sale, it is safe to say that Dragon Age’s community will continue to grow.
Dragon Age: Origins (Ultimate Edition)
The first in the franchise, Dragon Age: Origins, sets the stage for an adventure of epic proportions. Ominous creatures, known as “darkspawn,” have resurfaced after centuries of looming underground and are poised to ravage the lands once more. Players take on the role of “The Hero of Ferelden.” A new addition to the Grey Wardens, legendary warriors devoted to destroying the darkspawn blight and its nightmare-inducing leader, the Archdemon.
The Ultimate Edition for Dragon Age: Origins includes downloadable content such as The Stone Prisoner, Warden’s Keep, Return to Ostagar, The Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana’s Song, The Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt. Also included are the Feastday Gifts pack, the Feastday Pranks pack, and the Blood Dragon Armor set. All for $2.99.
Dragon Age II (Ultimate edition)
The second in the franchise, Dragon Age II, tells the story of Hawk and his family fleeing the darkspawn destruction during the events in Origins and journeys to Kirkwall in the Free Marches to start life anew. Only to be caught up in the struggle and bubbling tensions between the martial arm of the Chantry, the Templars, and the oppressed Mages of the Circle.
The Ultimate Edition for Dragon Age II includes the downloadable content The Exiled Prince, Legacy, Mark of the Assassin, The Black Emporium, both the Blood Dragon and Ser Isaac’s armor sets, class item packs, and an armory bundle. All for USD 2.99.
Dragon Age: Inquisition (Game of the Year edition)
The third addition to the franchise, Dragon Age: Inquisition, begins four years after the end of Dragon Age II and tells the story of an unlikely hero suddenly marked for greatness. Waking up after an explosion that leveled a mountaintop, players find themselves immediately immersed in a conspiracy that puts them at the center of a plot to destroy the world and reshape it into a world ruled by one of the very creatures who created the Blight.
The Game of the Year Edition includes the downloadable content Jaw of Hakkon, The Descent, and Trespasser. Both the Spoils of the Avvar and the Spoils of the Qunari armor packs, plus specialized gear, diverse mounts and unique cosmetic additions to your home base, Skyhold. All for USD 3.99.
