Exodus Trailer Shows Off An Action-Packed Sci-Fi Adventure

Exodus

Archetype Entertainment has finally unveiled the first in-depth look at gameplay in its upcoming sci-fi experience, Exodus. The division of Wizards of the Coast released a two-minute-long gameplay trailer for the game on December 17. While it did feature some cinematic shots and a bit of plot, the main focus was the combat and different kinds of enemies that will be experienced in the game.

Looking at the Action

The combat featured in the gameplay trailer showcases a variety of attack styles players can use to their advantage. Gunplay, which is to be expected in a sci-fi action game, will have bullets, lasers, and explosions aplenty. In terms of melee combat, the weapons available seem to have variety as well. The trailer showed off powerful tech-boosted punches and energy blades, which can also be used in stealth attacks from behind or up high.

While the combat may seem standard for this type of game, Exodus puts a lore-friendly spin on it. This is what many gamers want in a world saturated with sci-fi shooters. Jun Aslan, the protagonist of the game, will be using his inherited gift of harnessing celestial energy to put more power behind his attacks. This ability has the potential to be utilized in many different ways as players travel through the expansive and danger-filled Centauri Cluster.

Exploring the Lore

While the release date for Exodus remains a mystery, players can still explore bits of lore thanks to the official website for the game. Several spotlight trailers, as well as texts and an official timeline, can be found on the site. Each of them holds key pieces of information that are helping Exodus feel like an immersive experience before release day finally arrives. Some of the most important information future players can seek right now is Jun’s story, since that is who they will be taking control of throughout the game. His background and celestial heritage help explain his abilities, including the ones showcased in the new gameplay trailer.

Thanks to the trailer, future players can now see creatures, like the Awakened Bears, in action for the first time. Brief glimpses were shown of a bear taking blow after blow. From what the trailer showed, it seems like this was done in some sort of training area. This is due to armed and armored individuals witnessing the fight but not getting involved themselves. Before now, the noble creature was only featured in a spotlight narrated by Matthew McConaughey’s character, C. C. Orlev.

Preparing to Accept the Traveler’s Creed

Along with reading up on the lore of the universe that Exodus is creating, there is another way that future players can prepare for release day, whenever that may be. Right now, they can sign up to become a Founder. That’s simply done by selecting “Join Now” on the homepage of the game’s website. From there, all a player needs to do is submit their email address. It’s a simple mission that provides a pretty sweet reward for those who choose to accept it.

Becoming a Founder earns cosmetic rewards when Exodus launches. Just by signing up, players will be able to don the Exodus Aegis Space Suit, which includes a Founder’s patch to let others know that they supported the game from early on. Players can also refer three or more friends to earn The Traveler’s Cloak, which was seen in the now one-year-old cinematic trailer for the game. Players have until August 30, 2025, just before the clock strikes midnight Central Time, to become a Founder.
