Fallout 3 is an open-world action RPG that was developed by Bethesda Studios and released on 28 October 2008. It is one of the most beloved games in the franchise and offers players a lot of freedom. Dogmeat
Dogmeat is a German Shepherd and this fluffy companion can be found in the Scrapyard that is north of Vault 101. When players find Dogmeat, he will be fighting off a group of raiders. To recruit him, players must defeat all the raiders and then interact with the dog. Choosing all the kind options will allow you to recruit him. Dogmeat is also an animal companion and is capable of finding materials and ammo for the players by exploring ahead. He can also explore the areas where players cannot on their own. He also growls when danger is nearby giving players ample time to be ready.
Star Paladin Cross
Star Paladin Cross is a member of the Brotherhood of the Steel. She can be recruited from inside of The Citadel in Fallout 3 as long as players have a good Karma level. The Star Paladin Cross is based around the D&D archetype to fight for those in justice. She is a combat companion and supports players during their combat with other enemies. She excels with big guns, energy weapons, as well as melee weapons making her a great all-around companion. She also wears a power armor which allows her to tank enemy attacks as well.
Fawkes
Fawkes is a Super Mutant and is the first Super Mutant in Fallout history who can be recruited as a companion. He can be found in Vault 87 of Fallout 3 however players will be able to recruit him after the events at Raven Rock. The requirement to recruit him is to have good Karma. Fawkes has one of the largest hit points of all the companions. This effectively makes him one of the best Tank companions in the game.
Fawkes is well versed in all categories of combats and will be equipped with a Gatling Laser most of the time. This allows him to take down any enemy standing in the player’s way. This combined with the fact that he has one of the highest hit points without a doubt makes him one of the strongest companions in the game.
