Fishing Alone: Get Ready To Relax And Cast

Fishing Alone from TheSQUID

Fishing Alone or fishing with a friend? Well, that might be too bad because in this game you are alone. Now, if you’re like me and love fishing on a regular basis, then you’re obviously in the mood for some fishing games, too, right? We all love peace and quiet, the feeling of being in utter bliss every time you cast your line and reel that puppy in, right? Well, look no further; this is the Indie Simulator for you. It is a well-crafted piece of art in the making. Now, with little-to-no information on this new platformer, what can be said is that word on the street from the developers and publisher down at “THESQUID” is absolutely nothing.

Hey! I Thought I’d Be Fishing Alone By Now?

Now, I know it might not seem like much to go off of since the publisher/developers of the game have gone silent since making its announcement on “Steam”, but that’s not the case. Let me tell you more of what we do know and what to expect when the game releases. “Fishing Alone” is a game where you play as an automata robot, which essentially are just serve bots, ya know, the “Yes, I’ll do whatever you ask of me” kind of bots.

You’ll be endlessly fishing in a tranquil, post-apocalyptic world, uncovering fragments of the lost human past. Now, I know this may be speculation, but something tells me these fragments will be old relics of our past, such as canned foods, bike tires, and maybe even some old clothes the robots can equip themselves with for a better fishing experience.

Fishing For A Story?

Something tells me you still may not be satisfied. Is this true? Well, it’s a good thing I have a lot more to tell you. Fishing Alone has a story with it. In a post-apocalyptic world devoid of human life, the last vestiges of humanity’s existence lie in the actions of abandoned service bots. These automata, designed to follow commands without question, continue to carry out their final orders long after their masters have perished.

Others patrol empty mansions and desolate streets, enforcing long-forgotten rules. But not you. You’ll be fishing. Their unwavering loyalty creates a haunting world in which remnants of human civilization persist in strange, surreal ways. Over time, some automata have developed quirks in their programming, leading to unexpected behaviors—like fishing!

What To Expect in Fishing Alone

  • Cast your line, wait patiently, and start reeling in once you’ve hooked a fish, or who knows, maybe even a human fragment.
  • Discover and unlock new fishing areas to expand your fishing adventure and where there is new land there is new fish.
  • Gather materials through purchases or exploration, then craft and upgrade your fishing tackle/bait for better performance.

Fishing Guide For When You Fish Alone

Within this Indie Simulator, you’ll be able to discover fish species with color variations, but eventually, the more you progress, the more the number of species will increase over time. While fishing on your travels across this, you’ll gain various fishing gear, including rods, reels, and fishing lines. Now, I might be taking a giant step here, but I feel as though the fishing rods might be various things, such as really good rods, but funny things as well, like a plunger, for instance. Now, that would be a laugh. I’m stumped on what the reels could possibly be besides regular reels in Fishing Alone, but only time will tell from here.

Reel’em In Boys & Girls

With not much information to go based off of it’s safe to say that if you love fishing Fishing Alone may just be worth the wait for you and if your not, well I’m sure you’ll still come back after its release date, whenever that is right? I, for one, am very excited about this game, but with only “Coming Soon” as a release date since its first initial pop-up on “Steam” back in January of 2024, I can’t say it’s looking too promising if they don’t start speaking up soon.
