Spongebob SquarePants Joins Fortnite With 4 Game Modes

Fortnite SpongeBob

Fortnite is making waves in the gaming industry with its high-profile crossovers. Fortunately for gamers, Chapter 6 Season 1 is shaping up to continue this trend with Spongebob SquarePants. In addition to other collaborations, including Big Hero 6 and Godzilla, the game is looking to bring its thrills to Bikini Bottom.

Fortnite and Spongebob SquarePants Collab

Partnering with Paramount Games Studios, Fortnite players can now explore the underwater world of Spongebob SquarePants. Along with this crossover, Fortnite will introduce four unique game modes, including Prop Hunt and Only Up. These game modes will also be themed as Prop Hunt and Only Up will be called Bikini Bottom Prop Hunt and Bikini Bottom Only Up. Additionally, Spongebob Slap Fight and Spongebob Red vs Blue are the two other game modes.

Each of these game modes was built using Unreal editors and offers a fresh twist to the classic battle royale. Among these game modes, players are more likely to play Prop Hunt as it’s the most popular game. This popular mode is played by two opposing teams, with one transformed into normal objects to evade detection and the other tracking them down. Moreover, this fan-favorite concept will be incorporated into a themed map so players can experience Prop Hunt in a new, exciting way.

Another great addition to the battle royale is Bikini Bottom Only Up, which took the world by storm in 2023. The original concept of Only Up has players navigate a treacherous obstacle course designed to knock them off balance at every turn. However, the twist in Bikini Bottom Only Up is a simple one. Specifically, the game begins in the dimly lit town of Rock Bottom and has players pass iconic landmarks from Bikini Bottom as they climb upward to reach the summit.

Slap Fight, Red vs Blue, Ballistic

Fortnite‘s two other game modes are Spongebob Slap Fight and Spongebob Red vs Blue, which offer an exciting gaming experience. Slap Fight challenges players to karate-chop enemies off the map and search for Krabby Patties for bonus points. In contrast, Red vs Blue is a round-based free-for-all mode where players attack each other with weapons known as Jelly Blasters. These two games also have fun twists to make them different from their original concepts.

Ultimately, all four game modes are available in Fortnite Creative and are there for a limited time, so players should get them before they’re gone. While these game modes are new, a new game called Fortnite Ballistic was also introduced to great fanfare. This battle-royale-type game is a 5 vs. 5 first-person shooter (FPS) and officially launched on December 11. Along with the other game modes, this game mode offers even more fun and variety for players.

Final Thoughts

Fortnite collaborations are affectionately called “collabs” by fans and involve external media’s integration into the game. Primarily, these collabs manifest as cosmetic items but can also take other forms. Mainly, they take various shapes, including cosmetic items, in-game events, and limited-time offers. They can even be changed to the in-game island. Alongside Spongebob, several upcoming collaborations are rumored, including crossovers with popular franchises, namely, Demon Slayer, Spider-Man, and Cyberpunk 2077.

Additionally, music artists, including New Jeans, Lana Del Rey, and Calvin Harris, may appear in the game as well. Recently, an official trailer was released, adding more fan intrigue to the Spongebob SquarePants and Fortnite collaboration. Playing the four tailor-made games, players can immerse themselves in Bikini Bottom’s whimsical world and characters. As of now, the Spongebob SquarePants UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) is live and offers a unique gaming experience to keep fans of all ages happy.
