Fortnite Players Complain About XP Changes

Fortnite Chapter 6

Fortnite has now brought us Chapter 6, and with its stunning new Japanese-style locations, weapons, characters, and new movement options, it’s almost a masterpiece. There is one new feature that isn’t being received so well by the fans, and they have not wasted any time in expressing their negative opinions. Specifically, fans are not too thrilled about the changes to the battle royale XP availability. There are still plenty of familiar types of quests that give players the chance to learn new skills, locations, and weapon types and be rewarded with XP, but Epic Games has made leveling up much slower this season. Epic Games has listened to its fans and changed things, but fans are still unsatisfied.

Fortnite Level Complaints

Chapter 6: Season 1 was released last week, and it has received high reviews, save for the XP problem, which Epic Games quickly reacted to. Despite Epic Games‘ changes to the XP system, players are still insistent that their changes aren’t enough. These XP reductions and slow leveling up mean slow Battle Pass rewards and more playing with fewer rewards.

Epic has merged the Daily Quests with bonus XP. Once a player completes any of these tasks in different modes, they receive 60K XP, which is still less than what players received before. Even after they had done this, they went back and buffed it slightly. The first three daily quests would get 25K for completed quests, and now, we should be getting 75K per day completed. That is still not as much as players were awarded before.

Changes Aren’t Enough

That isn’t the biggest change regarding player leveling. Epic Games has altered the weekly playtime XP cap. This is the XP players get just for playing, and it was available in certain modes. Epic has changed this for modes like “Save The World, Lego Fortnite, Reload, and Creative Experiences.” Some reports also hint that this XP cap may also cover the OG mode and its Lego and Reload modes. This cap for these modes is combined with the week cap and is set for four million XP. This is a change, as this is an increase in the XP cap for Lego and Reload.

Epic Games Isn’t Out Of Yet

Since Epic Games made these changes, there have been improvements in the way we play, but gamers still want more. Several players have been leaving heavy comments pleading for more and are not happy with the way changes are going. Most of these changes are causing complaints because the caps that have been implemented are affecting the way certain gamers play.

Fortnite Chapter 6 release timing was set just after one of the biggest live events they have ever had or done before. Its Juice WRLD concert ended last season and had a tremendous turnout. After that event, Fortnite is trying to keep the momentum going with their resurrection of Fortnite OG mode returning. The OG mode is coming, allowing some gamers the opportunity to enjoy the game days of Yore. It won’t be entirely the same as they will be offering new players skins.

More Still Coming

But really, we are not out of Fortnite‘s glory days at this point. It has been close to nonstop glory days as one of the biggest games in the world, still putting up concurrent player count numbers no other game can match. It has embedded itself as a permanent fixture in youth culture and shows no signs of soon abandoning that track. Whatever poison you pick to play, just go out there and get that XP.
