Hell is Us was given its release date tonight at PlayStation’s State of Play. Hell is Us is an upcoming third-person game action-adventure game coming to PlayStation and Steam.
Hell is Us
This game is set to give us intense melee combat with exploration all the while we are faced with monsters and mysterious powers. These supernatural creatures in Hell is Us are faceless monsters that we see attacking us and others. We go in a military-like operation to find out what happened to the world, the game details mention “No map, no compass, no quest markers.” it dictates that we are to find our own way around and just stumble upon the world as we move around due to instinct alone. Creative Director, Jonathan Jacques-Belletete states: “The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.” This could give us a hint that the supernatural monsters we will experience might be influenced by human violence.
In the official gameplay trailer we are shown various creatures, environments, and what would be NPCs. This game gives major Returnal vibes and it’s set to be a favorite of mine currently. The Steam Page mentions multiple weapons, so we won’t be stuck to just one weapon the entire game. We will probably have a skill tree if anything, or if mentioned like before, if it continues with the Returnal vibes, we might find weapons as we run around and maybe some rouge-like mechanics. It’s all speculation as we have only a bit of information but I wouldn’t be against it, Returnal was one of my favorite games despite being one of my most stressful games.
We play as Remi, a United Nations Peacekeeper. We venture out into a war-torn country as he tries to find his parents. He arrives in his hometown where he finds a body. Remi does have a drone that is mentioned to be able to assist us. Where not only vital to the story but how we move around as it will help us distract monsters. Stealth will play a factor in this as we move around the world, probably to avoid something we can’t beat. This game doesn’t seem like it is the one to hold hands, if it wants to kill you, it will. It is mentioned you will have to put your skills to the test to survive.
Hell is Us, is given a September 04, 2025 release date for PlayStation, Steam, and Xbox X/S. State of Play announced a bunch of new games and released launch trailers.
