Since its release earlier this year, Helldivers 2 became PlayStation’s fastest-selling title of all time. Within 12 weeks of its release, it surpassed 12 million sales. This third-person shooter takes players into the role of Helldivers who drop from orbit onto hostile planets swarming with enemies bent on destroying democracy and Super Earth. This ongoing Second Galactic War is between Super-Earths, self-described managing democracy, and three terrible factions, Cyborgs, Bugs, and the Illuminate. Despite its beginning success, Helldivers has lost a significant number of players. Endeavoring to win players’ hearts back, developers Arrowhead Game Studios are launching an expansion, Escalation of Freedom.
Helldivers 2 Is About To Change With Escalation Of Freedom
With its popularity dwindling, this expansion is a must for Arrowhead Game Studios. Helldivers 2 Escalation of Freedom will be the developers’ largest update yet. Along with their announcement, they released a fantastic trailer and details.
The Escalation of Freedom raises the difficulty level to 10. While providing new missions, larger enemy outposts, new enemies, both bots and bugs and adding new environmental hazards to navigating.
Some of the details revealed are the three new Terminids. The first is the Impaler, which is a massive stubby tentacle that takes gamers on and blocks their retreats. Next is the Spore Charger that stays hidden until it’s right on top of you. The last is the Alpha Commander, the biggest, meanest Brood Commander that calls in its minions that will be more than a handful.
We have also been given information on New Automations. The first is the artillery Rocket Tank that will throw more explosives at you than bugs spitting acid taking down your armor.
Also, one of the new mission types is called larva retrieval. The title pretty much explains it, but gamers will have to transport a bug sample across a harsh planet to a secure location. There will no doubt be fire twisters and acid storms thrown in there to hamper the way, to say nothing of the local hostile bug life waiting to say hello to you.

Helldivers 2 offers players the solution of playing together as a team, but who doesn’t want to play that closely as a team perfectly? It does this by implementing a team reinforcement system rather than an essential support team role system. It also offers a fantastic combat feel with various missions that are always new and interesting.
The expiation trailer Escalation of Freedom teases not just the game expansions we have already covered, but they are working and offering more. Helldivers 2 fans have got to be happy about this, as it looks like the expiation will be released on August 6th.
