Today, Honkai: Star Rail dropped their 2.7 live stream, and with it came new characters, events, and a new story arc. We finally bid farewell to the waking dream known as Penacony, but with the update, we will see old friends returning and some new faces along the way. The update “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn.” will be released on December 4th for PC. PS5, IOS and Android.
Goodbye, Penacony!
In Honkai Star Rail 2.7, After four in-game parts for the chapter known as Penacony, we are finally saying goodbye. We leave the Dreaming Realm and head off to a new Arc. The Astral Express and its crew will set their course for the mysterious realm of Amphoreus, the Eternal Land. Black Swan mentioned this back in Penacony, she suggested that the Crew venture to Amphoreus, a realm so enigmatic that even the Aeon of Trailblaze, Akivili could not reach. The livestream showed a bunch of new characters and new themes. Showing off already how flourished the new arc is to be. In their own words: It’s a story of Heros.
Amphoreus will be diving into myths and legends as this story unfolds as it shows up Greek-like images and sets a storyline inspired by the heroes of Olympus. HoYoverse isn’t new to using a theme to express their stories, and as we move forward it looks like it won’t be any different in Amphoreus. A new cast is shown off each representing themselves and to be part of Amphoreus. It is a beautiful portrait of stories being weaved together for such a small trailer.
We also got to look at and hear Madam Herta for the first time since her reveal. She quoted saying “Most heroes journeys in the universe are just dice tossed on a whim. Will your answer be any different, Amphoreus?” Is Amphoreus an epic of heroes and legends? or another waking nightmare of illusions and stories? Only time will tell.
Hello, New and Old Friends!
Sunday
Sunday will arrive at the Astral Express, He is a 5-Star Imaginary character. After stepping down as Head of the Oak Family, he decided to “decent to the mortal realm and see what this world is truly like.” He casts aside his blessing from Harmony and Order to walk among the others. In combat, Sunday has a support set of skills. His Skill allows teammates to immediately take action while increasing their DMG dealt. If the teammate has a summon, both take action and have their DMG delt increased. Sunday’s Ultimate can regenerate energy for one teammate, causing them to be blessed, A halo will appear over the buffed ally boosting their CRIT DMG.
After he fell to the Astral Express crew he wants to return to Penacony for one last show. Giving him light and life, but is it for redemption? or to simply restart his once-grand plan? Trailblazers will have to wait and find out when Honkai Star Rail 2.7 drops. Maybe this fallen angel can be saved.
Fugue
“Stars are numerous, yet widely scattered. Dreams of a past life is now all gone. Though the cosmos stretches far and wide. As long as we hold each other in our thoughts, there will always be a chance for reunion.”
Fugue will be arriving with Honkai Star Rail 2.7. She is a foxian girl that has a familiar face, familiar? Yes. Trailblazers will recognize this Foxian as Tingyun, an old friend we knew back on the Xianzou Luofu. She returns with her identity, name, and appearance stolen by Phantiliya back in 1.2. After barely surviving, Miss Tingyun was brought to Madam Ruan Mei. Himeko and Welt agreed to take her with us and was given a second chance at life as she returned home.
Fugue is a 5-Star Nihility Fire Character, she is a support character that will support one teammate in reducing enemies’ toughness regardless of Weakness Type. When Fugue is in combat, enemy targets will be inflicted with the “Cloudflame Luster” effect. When the effect is reduced to 0, the target will take Weakness Break DMG again. When teammates attack Weakness Broken enemies, they will also deal with Super Break DMG. Fugue with her skill, can increase ally characters’ Break DMG. Her Ultimate deals Fire DMG to all Enemies regardless of Weakness Type and directly reduces all enemies’ Toughness.
Along with Fugue and Sunday, General Jing Yuan and Firefly will return in their banners in Honkai Star Rail 2.7. Speaking of 5-Star, HoYoverse will be allowing you to claim one of 7 5-stars as an Express Gift when 2.7 drops, for free. All you have to do is log in and claim it.
Updates from the Beyond
Coming with the new characters and new arc. The Astral Express will get a new Party Car, where they can relax with the bartending robot and enjoy a soothing look out into the cosmos. Trailblazer will find their own quarters among the Astral Express. In the “Cosmic Home Decor Guide” event, Trailblazers will transform an empty storage room into a cozy heaven making it a place to live for us. Using Express funds from earned tasks we will be able to add furniture, making it a place to reflect on our journey moving forward. Pure Fiction and the Simulated Universe will be getting updates for new enemies and new gameplay. The usual events will make a return like:
- Gift of Odyssey – 7 Day login rewards
- Planar Fissure
- Realm of Strange
The Path of Remembrance will come in 3.0, Twitter has already released this for the Trailblazer but it seems like it will be another support-type Path. Wishful Resin will be coming to use as a way to synthesize custom sub-stats when rolling for new equipment. Variable Dice will be arriving and will let you reroll the substats that you have on your pieces, just to redistribute them differently. What do you think about moving forward?
