Wanted: Bruised Face – A Survivor’s Guide to One of Quarantine Zone’s Trickiest Tasks on Day 7
Let’s be honest for a second. We’ve all been there. You’re deep into Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, feeling like you’ve finally got a handle on things. You’re processing refugees, checking temperatures, and managing resources like a pro. Then, Day 7 rolls around, the Bulletin Board lights up, and suddenly you’re tasked with finding a needle in a haystack, or rather, a specific angry guy in a line of desperate survivors.
The quest in question? “Wanted: Bruised Face.”
It sounds simple enough on paper. Find a guy with a bruised face. But if you’ve spent more than five minutes in this game, you know that “simple” is a trap. The instructions are vague, the stakes are high, and if you mess up, you’re looking at a penalty that hurts worse than a zombie bite.
Don’t worry, though. I’ve metaphorically banged my head against the wall so you don’t have to. Here is everything you need to know to track down this elusive troublemaker and claim that sweet, sweet reward money.
Unlocking the Bulletin Board in Quarantine Zone

First things first, you can’t hunt a bounty if you don’t have the job. The Wanted: Bruised Face quest isn’t available right from the jump. You need to survive the first week.
On Day 7, the Bulletin Board in your booth becomes active. This is your hub for side hustles and extra cash, which you definitely need because rent in the apocalypse isn’t cheap. While you might see the notification on Day 7, the actual quest details usually pop up on Day 8.
The lore here is actually kind of interesting. Apparently, our target caused a massive scene at another outpost—kicking up dust, releasing zombies (rude), and generally being a menace to society. He was beaten up and kicked out, and now he’s trying to sneak into your Quarantine Zone.
Your job? Make sure his journey ends at your checkpoint.
Spotting the Target: It’s Not Just About the Bruises

Devolver Digital
Here is where it gets tricky, and where a lot of players fail. Quarantine Zone: The Last Check loves to throw red herrings at you.
You might think, “Okay, I’ll just look for the guy who looks like he went ten rounds with a heavyweight boxer.” But in a world overrun by the undead, a lot of people look beat up. You need to look for a specific combination of traits.
The Physical Signs
Obviously, look for the bruised face. This is non-negotiable. However, do not confuse simple bruises with zombie bites or deep skin cuts.
Here is the kicker: aside from the face, this guy is healthy.
- Temperature: Normal.
- Pulse: Normal.
- Lungs: Clear.
- Skin: No bites, no claw marks.
It feels counter-intuitive to liquidate a “healthy” person when your whole job is stopping the infected, but that’s the gig.
The Attitude Problem
This is the real tell. The physical bruises are the clue, but the attitude is the confirmation. This guy is angry.
When you talk to him, he isn’t going to beg for entry or cry about his lost family. He’s going to be hostile. In my playthrough, he spat out something like, “Zombies eat people with brains. It’s no wonder that you’re alive.”
Ouch. If an NPC insults your intelligence while trying to get you to save their life, that’s a pretty good sign you’ve found your target.
Pulling the Trigger (Literally)

Once you have identified the man with the bruised face and the bad attitude, you have to make a choice.
Usually, you only liquidate people who test positive for the virus or carry contraband. This time, you have to break protocol. Even though his tests come back green, you need to select the Liquidation option.
It feels wrong. Your instinct will be to let him through or just deny entry. But if you want to complete the quest and get paid, you have to take him out.
The Payoff
Why go through the moral ambiguity of taking out a human survivor? Because Quarantine Zone: The Last Check pays well for dirty work.
Completing the Wanted: Bruised Face quest nets you a cool $1,200. Considering how tight resources get in the mid-game, that cash injection is a lifesaver. You can put that toward upgrades, better tools, or just keeping the lights on for another day.
So, keep your eyes peeled on Day 8. Look for the bruises, listen for the insults, and don’t hesitate on the trigger. Good luck, officer.
