Resident Evil 2 Director Wants Another PT Game Even Though He Hates Horror
If you didn’t know the PT game, PT is an interactive teaser for the cancelled Silent Hills game, a potential installment of the Silent Hill series. Hideki Kamiya, the director of the original Resident Evil 2 game, has expressed his interest in wanting to see this idea come to fruition, with Hideo Kojima at the helm again. Anyone who knew of this game was devastated when Konami decided to scrap it, and though this was just a rant from Kamiya, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to see this game become an actual game. Here’s what Kamiya says about this.
What Is a PT Game?
As I mentioned before, P.T. is the interactive teaser that introduced a new installation to the Silent Hill series, but it was unfortunately cancelled in 2014. As an interactive teaser, you play as an unnamed protagonist, trapped in a suburban home, and experience supernatural occurrences around the house. This was a pretty cool way to introduce a new game. You were able to see what the game was all about and experience terrifying scenarios that excited players about the game it was teasing. It really was super unfortunate that Konami decided to forego this game because the teaser was hella scary.
What Does Kamiya Have to Say About All This?
Kamiya, like a lot of us, loved this teaser. And he wants Kojima to helm another P.T. game should Konami ever gift fans this blessing. Specifically, Kamiya writes on X,
“[I]f it’s impossible to resurrect P.T., Kojima should make a new game in the same style,”
“If Kojima doesn’t do it, maybe I’ll give it a go. I hate horror though, so it wouldn’t be horror… plus, I have no ideas.”
Bringing back this game would make a lot of people happy, and it seems Kamiya would be a part of that list of people. And whether or not another PT game will come out, it remains to be seen whether Kojima will even be a part of it at all. I would definitely love to see the mind of Kojima expand on this teaser.
