Resident Evil Requiem – New Look at Raccoon City in NVIDIA Video Showcase Trailer
Okay Resident Evil fan, get ready for the release of Resident Evil Requiem, launching in just 50 days! But before that, Capcom is gifting us with more sweet little teasers of this new title’s look, particularly of Raccoon City, the city that started this whole series. Capcom has recently released footage of Raccoon City’s new look through NVIDIA’s brand-new tech showcase. Here’s all that happened during the trailer video.

Resident Evil Requiem’s Raccoon City is teased through a new 4K Path Tracing & NVIDIA DLSS 4 trailer uploaded by NVIDIA. The video showcases short clips of Raccoon City depicted as a dark and decrepit city, functioning in the aftermath of Resident Evil 2 and 3’s events. In the footage, we see Grace walking through the city, as well as Leon arriving in this hellscape in his brand new Porsche.
The trailer is only about a minute long, but it showcases different areas of the remnants of Raccoon City, which, to my surprise, is still up and functioning, though parts of the city are destroyed due to past events in previous games.
Because this is an NVIDIA tech showcase, the video highlights the new 4K Path Tracing & NVIDIA DLSS 4. In the trailer, we see the differences between the game’s graphics when RTX is on and off from different locations around Raccoon City.
The new DLSS 4 offers accelerated performance and enhanced image quality. With path tracing implemented in Resident Evil Requiem, the game will be able to render multiple shadows from multiple light sources, and complex lighting effects like reflections and refractions through glass. The game will also be available on GeForce Now at launch, which will allow players to play the game on GeForce RTX 5080 with DLSS 4 enabled.
Resident Evil Requiem Releases February 27

Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch in about a month and a half, and fans are chomping at the bit. Ever since the announcement trailer last summer, fans of the series have been hyped about this latest installment to the franchise. Though this new story isn’t where fans thought it would go, given how Resident Evil Village ended, this is definitely one of the more interesting storylines of the series.
Resident Evil Requiem will follow Grace Ashcroft, an FBI tech analyst, investigating a string of deaths all over the United States, which will lead her to the city that started everything, Raccoon City. Grace is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a main protagonist in a previous Resident Evil game, Resident Evil: Outbreak. And one of the biggest reveals to be announced was Resident Evil icon, Leon Kennedy, joining Grace as a playable character in this new installment.
Leon’s joining the cast in Resident Evil Requiem changes many things about what people expected the game to be. Resident Evil Requiem was branded as a psychological horror game because of Grace’s relatability as a character to players. The devs wanted to highlight this aspect of the game to enhance the horror in this installment. The addition of Leon as a playable character allows some reprieve from that horror, as we all know that Leon is much more well-suited to action, with even the devs admitting it’s almost like playing two completely separate games.
This doesn’t diminish the hype of Resident Evil Requiem. It definitely adds depth and ties this installment to the series so well. Adding Leon to the character lineup in this game and revealing that information when they did definitely raised the hype for the game, and I cannot wait until Resident Evil Requiem’s launch next month.
