Stardew Valley: How Long Is 1 Day In The Super Cozy Game?

Stardew Valley is a wonderful and cozy farming sim that incorporates tasks like mining, fishing, chopping trees, and taking care of many other tasks on a little farm. Like many farming simulator games, Stardew Valley contains an in-game clock and runs on an accelerated day-by-day format.

Each day in Stardew Valley is broken up into smaller sections – morning, afternoon, and late night. You can see an approximation of what time it is by looking at the top right corner of your screen where there is an image that shifts with the time. Just below that is a digital clock that will tell you the in-game time. But how long is 1 day in Stardew Valley?

A Breakdown of Stardew Valley Days

Stardew Valley days take place from 6 am – 2 am in-game. During these in-game waking hours, players can perform tasks on their farm, interact with NPCs, go fishing, and mining, and visit other areas of the map.

Stardew Valley days are broken into 3 major timeframes. Morning (6 am – 2 pm), Afternoon (2 pm – 12 am), and Late Night (12 am – 2 am). During the early morning, shops and houses are closed for visits. At 9 am you can enter most shops and homes. Depending on the shop or home, locations in Stardew Valley will begin to close around 4 pm and continue to close until Late Night.

Once Late Night arrives, the player will receive warnings on their screen reminding them that their character is tired and needs to sleep. If you do not put your player character to bed before 2 am, your character will pass out and be charged in-game currency to be towed back to the farmhouse. So keep an eye on that time clock!

How Long is 1 Day In Stardew Valley?

One day in Stardew Valley is around 20 minutes long, not including the 1-2 minute warning period that tells you it’s time to hightail it back to the farmhouse and get into bed. Morning lasts about 10 minutes in real-time, Afternoon lasts 10 minutes in real-time, and Late Night lasts about 1-2 minutes.

To break things down even further, the clock in Stardew Valley changes by 10-minute intervals – each of which lasts about 7 seconds in real-time. To play the game efficiently, you must prioritize your in-game tasks and use the clock as a guide to gain maximum player efficiency.

Conclusion

Prioritizing your time in Stardew Valley is essential. Since the game is broken down into 1 day periods and each day has a limited amount of time, you must plan your days to be an efficient use of time. By memorizing the schedules of your favorite characters, the shop opening and closing, and utilizing the early mornings and late nights properly, you will be able to get much done on your farm in Stardew Valley.
