To catch any bug in Palia, including Paper Lantern Bugs, you need the right tools. You can catch bugs by throwing a smoke bomb at them. However, you should approach them slowly so that you don’t scare them off. The catch rate for bugs in this game depends on the type of belt you have. Here are the values for Paper Lantern Bugs:

- Standard Belt – 100%
- Fine Belt – 100%
- Exquisite Belt – 100%
These bugs are pretty easy to spot, thanks to their glow. They do spook easily so be careful because they will fly away. The good news is they’re pretty slow, so you will have that advantage.

- Standard Smoke Bomb: This smoke bomb is the most common type and doesn’t have any special effects. It’s simply a smoke bomb that catches bugs.
- Sneaky: Sneaky smoke bombs prevent you from alerting bugs when you throw them, this can help catch particulate tricky bugs.
- Sticky: Sticky smoke bombs slow down whatever bug you throw it at, increasing the chances of success.
- Supreme: This smoke bomb is supreme. It has a perfect catch rate.
