Fallout: London is a brand-new mod for Fallout 4 that was released on 25 June 2024. The game offers a brand-new experience in the franchise universe as it is set outside of the United States. Playing this ambitious mod, however, is not as easy as purchasing and downloading a game. It is more complicated and requires players to be on PC as games can only be modded there. This article will go over everything that players will need to play this mod.
Requirements to Play
To Play Fallout: London, players must have Fallout 4 and all of its DLC purchased on either Steam or GOG. Players can simply buy Game of the Year Edition and then they will be able to install the mod. However, for someone who has not bought the Game of the Year Edition, these are all the DLCs they must have in addition to the base game:
- Automatron
- Far Harbor
- Vault-Tec Workshop
- Contraptions Workshop
- Wasteland Workshop
- Nuka World
Installation on GOG
Fallout: London is much simpler to install on GOG than Steam. To install the mod, players must first download Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on this platform. After it has been installed, players can simply download the mod from the store. After downloading, players must click on the launch button, and it will install the mod. After installation, a launcher will appear allowing players to play the mod.
Installation on Steam
Fallout 4 on Steam must be downgraded to the previous version to be compatible with the Fallout: London mod. So players must downgrade the game on Steam first. Players will need to force Steam to download version 1.10.163.0 of the game. To do that players must head to the Nexus Mods website and download the Fallout: London Downgrader from there. After downloading, run the downgrader.exe application.
This will open a window that will ask players for the Steam path. Players must browse the folder and go to where the game is installed. Next players will be asked to enter their Steam username and password. It will then ask for a Steam Guard code which you can find in your email. After that, the downloading will start and will take quite a long time. Once the old version has been downloaded, players will need to install the mod from GOG. Once installed, a prompt will appear asking where the mod needs to be installed.
Players will need to make sure that they give the file path to where the Steam version of the game is installed. After the path has been updated, the mod will start installing. After the installation has been completed, players can launch the mod from GOG and play Fallout: London on a Steam account.
