A legend in the space MMO genre of video games, Warframe has stood the test of time. Even as the game approaches 12 years old, it still sports thousands of daily players. In Warframe, you fight against universal threats, obtain resources for crafting, and defeat priority targets. Plastids, one of the resources that many players struggle to obtain en-mass, are the bane of many players’ existence. These disgusting chunks of flesh originate from the game’s version of zombies, the Infested, and are used for crafting various blueprints throughout the game. Unfortunately, Plastids are considered an uncommon resource, so obtaining large amounts can prove challenging. This guide will make Plastids farming a breeze.
What Are Plastids Used For?
Even though they are considered one of the hardest resources to farm for, Plastids are required in a plethora of blueprints and other miscellaneous items in Warframe. From feeding your infested Helminth to researching weapons in the Clan Dojo, large amounts are required to progress in the game. Plastids are used in many weapon blueprints. They’re also prevalent in Warframe component blueprints, as well as helmets. According to the wiki, players need to farm at least 200,000 Plastids to craft most items in the game. This is a very hefty ask as Plastids only drop in groups of 10-30 at a time. However, there are ways to make the grind easier with a few simple tips and tricks.
Where And How To Farm Plastids
Out of every planet and moon in Warframe, only Saturn, Uranus, Phobos, Eris, and Pluto drop Plastids. They can also be obtained in small amounts from resource caches and certain drop rotations. This guide will not be focusing on those methods, however, as those strategies tend to be on the slower end of resource acquisition. First off, ensure you have access to Steel Path. The Steel Path is essentially Warframe’s “hard mode” since enabling it increases enemy levels by 100 and buffs their armor values. Although Steel Path is quite challenging for newer players, it is essential to en-mass resource gathering due to its increased drop rates.
Endless missions like Survival, Defense, and Excavation are where you’ll want to go to farm lots of resources. Warframes that enhance the amount of loot you get such as Khora, Hydroid, and Nekros are essential to farming in Warframe, so you will want to bring one or more of those frames. Speed Nova (modded for negative strength) is great in Survival and Defense especially due to her ability to speed up enemies. Defense on Saturn, Uranus, and the Corpus-ruled planets in the list are great for multi-resource farming. On Saturn, you can obtain the rare Orokin Cell resource. Uranus grants Polymer Bundles, and Corpus planets will be a great source of Oxium.
Trivia And Closing Thoughts
Beginning in Update 9.0, materials could be bought directly from the market with Warframe’s premium currency, Platinum. Plastids are no different, and players can purchase 300 for 30 Platinum. Plastids, like many other resources, have a real-world connection. In real life, a plastid is a double-membrane organelle normally found in algae. Examples of plastids include chloroplast, chromoplast, and apicoplasts. In Warframe, this resource varies greatly from its real-life counterpart. It can be inferred that Warframe’s Plastids are a corrupted version of plant matter that has morphed along with the Infestation. Warframe is free to play on all platforms and is being updated regularly.
