Inazuma 11 Victory Road Showcase More Gameplay and a Remake

Inazuma 11 Victory Road is brand new from the Inazuma 11 series. Returning in a much more interesting form with a touch of generative AI technology in assisting game development and promotion. Level-5 started developing Victory Road in 2020.

They released the Inazuma 11 Victory Road Beta Demo on March 28, 2024, with various breakthroughs such as a new system, play through Story Mode with a new protagonist, and meeting all characters from the series past in Chronicle Modes with anime scenes increased to 5200 characters. But postponing it until June  2025 has disappointed the fans.

Inazuma 11 Victory Road Postponed

The delay in the release of Inazuma 11 Victory Road has left many fans who were eagerly waiting feeling disappointed. So, they must wait more shortly. However, an official announcement from LEVEL-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino about a release change has been out and confirmed through the website and their trailer on September 24th. Hino also announced new information about the new gameplay system regarding Inazuma 11 Victory Road. Again, Inazuma 11 Victory Road has postponed the release date from its planned 2024 to June 2025 worldwide.

It revealed that the decision has been made is aimed at further improving the quality of the product and delivering a game that the players can enjoy for an extended period. Hino promised to eventually the Inazuma 11 Victory Road in June 2025. With no specific date, it leads to unsure for some players. But another said that it’s better to let them cook because something to be rushed is not good for a game.

The Fact Behind Inazuma 11 Victory Road

Inazuma 11 Victory Road has a long story to reach its current position. A part of the Inazuma Eleven series, Level-5 originally developed the Inazuma Eleven Ares in 2016 and was set to be released in 2018. The game went through several names during development and yet many issues were faced during the production period.  And after numerous delays, Ares was scrapped.

On April 1, 2020, Hino announced plans for an upcoming new game project. Instead of following the original plan for Ares’ story, the newly announced game features a completely new storyline. So, Ares and Victory Road are two completely different games. Ares was delayed because of production issues, and Victory Road was delayed because Level-5 wanted the game to be perfect as an apology to the fans.

Inazuma 11’s Story Continues

In Inazuma 11 Victory Road, the story will take place at the Nagumohara Junior High School in Nagasaki, 25 years after the first game. The new protagonist Sasnami Umei, who tries to distance himself and forget his dreams of playing soccer. Deep within his heart, there is an inner conflict and a tumult of emotions. He later encounters with Haru Endou, the son of Endou, sparking a rivlary. As Unmei, they need a soccer team and try to topple Raimon at the summit of Japanese football.

Alongside Unmei, other main characters in the team will be Jouji Sakurazaki, Garyu Shisendou, Heita Kisoji, Raika Shinohara, Kameo Kodokai, Suruga Yagyu and Haru Endo. In this case, the Animation Studio MAPPA will be in charge of cutscenes.

The Best Characters of Inazuma 11 Victory Road

According to the official Inazuma 11 site, there are 152 characters to create a soccer team. Each of them are possess the powerful Soccer Arts. So far, here are best players in Inazuma 11 Victory Road with the best stats and techniques:

  • Endou Mamoru: His trademark headband, is undoubtedly ranked first. He plays as the goalkeeper and also serves as the captain of the Raimon team.
  • Gouenji Suuya: A reliable striker who has a quiet personality but possesses a super strong fire-element kick with his signature technique “Fire Tornado.”
  • Kidou Yuto: The former captain of the Teikoku Gakuen team and is a midfielder known for his rather eccentric appearance, wearing glasses and a cloak that he always dons during matches. “Illusion Ball” and “Koutei Penguin Shoot” are the combination techniques he possesses.
  • Fubuki Shirou: His dual personality allows him to have ice kicks called “Eternal Blizzard” and “Wolf Legend” that can break through the opponent’s defenses.
  • Ichirota Kazemaru: The technique Honoo no Kazamidori, Dark Phoenix, and The Hurricane, which is based on the wind element, transformed Kazemaru, who initially played the role of a defender, into a midfielder and even served as captain for a brief period.

What to Expect in Inazuma 11 Victory Road

Inazuma 11 Victory Road is the best thing since sliced bread because, in the trailer for the release, Hino introduced the details of the new system, Commander Mode. It is designed for players who don’t enjoy action games. The system allows them to give characters general strategic commands and focus on training characters to win matches. It can be switched to manual too and fight with strategy instead of action in Commander Mode or back again to Commander Mode freely during matches. It looks so flexible!

Commander Mode would work on all game modes which are divided into Story Mode, Chronicle Mode, and New Mode: Victory Road Online Tournament. And the training of one’s players through the Abilear Board, Bond Link, or Bond Town. But when selecting a player within the Team Dock, the Abilear Board appears among the various options in the beta trial the feature is inaccessible.

When looking at the graphics, it’s pretty bright with animated models of characters and expressiveness; everything looks pretty lively in general. At least the players who discover the Inazuma 11 Victory Road event for the first time, will have a modernized and pretty simple way to play the game.

An Uncertain Future

After the September 2024 Visions, Level-5 revealed they have used generative AI to come up with their game concepts and stablization. This include backgrounds and character illustrations, intuitive control, usable in all game modes and a Character Growth System. While Inazuma 11 Victory Road will endless possibilities, it Is also in danger of the creativity backlash.

The future at first looks bright by expanding the core gameplay than couple of years ago. Yet, Level-5’s creative team is facing the consequences that could cut their global return short. For now, only time will tell if Inazuma 11 Victory Road will survive on June 2025.
