Chapter 1 of Indigo Park has enjoyed a growing fanbase, and nowhere is that more clear than in the eager requests for official merchandise of the game. Despite its creator originally stating that he wanted to wait until the game was complete before releasing merchandise, between fanbase excitement and deceptive bootlegs, the first official plush for the series was released earlier this year. After the success of the first plush, two more are on the way.
At Indigo Park
The first chapter of Indigo Park, an indie horror game developed by Mason “UniqueGeese” Myers, was released earlier this year and earned an eager and quickly-growing fanbase. Indigo Park has been UniqueGeese’s passion project, ever since he challenged himself to recreate the first chapter of Garten of BanBan in one week. In the chapter, the player – an urban explorer – comes to the ruined and abandoned park and meets the park’s mascot Rambley the Raccoon. Rambley, voiced by Vito Z “OtterboyVA” Holmes, is a constant and friendly presence during the player’s trek through the park, which quickly endeared him to the player base.
Chapter 1’s primary threats came in the form of living mascots – Mollie Macaw (voiced by Lauryn “Toastymarshmallow” Alexandria) and Lloyd the Lion (voiced by Tom “RecD” Hart Jr.). While at first it seems that the living mascots are animatronics gone rogue (akin to Five Nights at Freddy’s), towards the latter half of the chapter it’s revealed that the monstrous mascots chasing the player are very much alive. Though chapter 1 doesn’t explain how or why this is the case, it’s very likely to be something detailed in future chapters.
The ending of chapter 1 hinted at one of the threats of chapter 2, with the appearance of a monstrous Finley the Sea Serpent (voiced by Zach “ZaccActs” Pokeres) as the player character prepared to enter Oceanic Odyssey, a ride that is said to be Finley’s. All other details about Chapter 2 have been kept a secret, except for a cryptic hint from Mason. The game could entail anything, which is exciting for players.
More Plushes Incoming
As anticipation for Indigo Park’s second chapter grows, Mason has announced a collaboration with plush-making company Youtooz to release two new plushes of the game’s mascots. This comes after a successful collaboration with Makeship, another plush-making company. The plushes from Youtooz are set to release on August 9, at the same price point as the original Makeship plushes, which is a nice touch.
Mason also announced an official website for the game is in development. The website would include a storefront for official merchandise, designed by members of the game’s dev team and sold to act as additional funding for the game’s creation. While no details about what specific merchandise would be sold have been shared yet, it’s very likely that this would include plushes. Perhaps it would even include real-life versions of the merchandise shown in the game’s gift shop.
