Jane Doe is a new agent arriving at Zenless Zone Zero on September 4th with her banner, She is an S-rank Agent who is a Physical Attribute and Anomaly Specialist. This article will cover her abilities, team comps, engine, and which disks will be usable.
Quick Note: We won’t go into mindscapes, so for the build and ratings, we will be assuming the agent will be at Mindscape 0 (M0). However, if the Mindscapes are necessary they will be mentioned. This is a build as of version 1.1.
Who is Jane Doe?
As it is said above Jane is an S-rank agent who is a Physical Attribute and an Anomaly Specialist. She uses Anomaly to deal Assault Damage (DMG) to trigger a critical hit once the Anomaly bar is full, dealing massive Physical Damage to enemies one time. Jane is excellent at dodging giving her two forms of dodging: One is the standard dodge while another is triggered in her passion state where she can pass through enemies. She comes with certain abilities:
- Sore Spot: This is her passive ability, where if she is with another Anomaly agent or an agent from the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team: Jane’s Physical Anomaly build rate goes up by 20%. If the enemy is already suffering from an Anomaly she will do a 15% increase in her build-up.
- Insight: Is her Core passive, where when she hits an enemy she will cause them to enter the Gnawed state for 10 seconds. If a squad member causes the flinch effect, Assault DMG has a chance to trigger a critical hit. It has a base Critical Rate of 31% and Crit DMG of 50%, Jane’s Anomaly Proficiency increases the Crit Rate by 0.13% for every 1 Anomaly Point.
- Passion State: Passion State is where in this state, Jane will get an Anomaly buildup rate increase as well as an Attack increase, Jane will enter this state once her Passion Stream is filled, a bar located below her health.
- Final Curtain: This is her Ulitmate, Jane weaves between enemies attacking them from all sides, dealing damage, and unleashing a final move, once activated Jane will immediately enter Passion State and her Passion Stream will be refilled.
Passion State Buffs
When Jane Doe enters her Passion State she will get an Anomaly Buildup rate and Attack increase but her attacks will change as well. As she deals damage in this state her Passion Stream will be consumed. Triggering a perfect dodge or assist in this state will allow some recovery of her Passion Stream. However, once her Stream is finished the State will end and she will return to her normal state. Holding her attack button while in Passion State will allow her to attack with a spin attack that can be held for a long amount.
Team Comp
We want someone regarding her passive ability that she wants someone who is either an Anomaly or part of the Criminal Investigation Team, you will want to choose one of the other, or both, to ensure her passive is active.
Grace is an Electric Anomaly, which will allow the passive to trigger and with Grace being a wonderful support with her Electric Buildup already, she can help trigger even the secondary effect causing Jane Doe to have a lot of buildup with her Physical Anomaly, the only issue is Grace is a S-Rank Agent so she will be expensive, or hard, to get unless you get lucky. Grace is also part of the 300 summons banner, where once you reach 300 summons you can select and recruit an agent for your team for free.
Seth is an Electric A-rank agent being introduced with Jane’s banner, while he is a defender mainly, he can contribute to the electric anomaly buildup with Grace. Seth will also cover the Criminal Investigation Team, so if you put him on instead of Grace, Sore Spot will be active anyway.
Some honorable mentions would be the newly released Qingyi an S-rank Stun Agent, She is part of the criminal investigation so she will trigger the passive, and with her being an Electric stunner, she can buildup an Anomaly and make enemies vulnerable. Piper is another good character, she is an A-rank Physical and an Anomaly as well, who can help Jane Doe in both triggering her passive and Buildup physical Anomaly when she isn’t on the field.
You will have to choose a Bangboo to take with you on missions, a couple I can say for sure will be Officer Cui if you bring Seth or Qinqyi. Bangvolver for their physical capability if you decide to bring Piper. A good one to use will also be Electricboo if you choose to go with Grace and Seth, allowing for more of an Electric Anomaly buildup.
Best Drive Discs
If we want to grab Drive Discs for her: 4 Piece Fanged Metal, the 2 piece gives physical damage increase by 10%, and the 4 piece will give the wearer an astounding 35% increase for 12 seconds once an enemy has been inflicted with Assault. The 2 piece set can go to either Woodpecker Electro for an 8% increase to her CRIT Rate or Freedom Blues for a 30-point boost to Jane Doe’s Anomaly Proficiency. Each Disc will give their own 2-set and 4-set bonus allowing you to slot in a 2-set piece for some extra buffs.
- Disc 1: You would want to prioritize Health, then Anomaly Proficiency (AP), Attack % (ATK%), Crit Rate (CR %) and Crit Damage (CD %)
- Disc 2: Prioritize ATK, AP, ATK%, CR%, and CD%
- Disc 3: Prioritize Defence (DEF), AP, ATK%, CR%, and CD%
- Disc 4: Prioritize AP, ATK%, CR %, CD% and ATK
- Disc 5: Prioritize Physical DMG %, AP, CR %, CD% and ATK
- Disc 6: Prioritize Anomaly Mastery, AP, ATK %, CR% and CD%
Engines
Her signature engine is the Sharpened Stinger, an S-Rank Engine, It has a base of 90 for Anomaly Proficiency and a base ATK of 713. Her engine has the ability:
- Indulge in the Hunt: Upon activating a Dash Attack gain 1 stack of Predatory Instinct. Each Stack increases Physical DMG by 12% for 10 seconds staking 3 times. This effect is triggered once every 0.5 seconds and can be refreshed upon retriggers. Upon entering a battle or triggering a Perfect Dodge can grant max stacks of Predatory Instinct. While at max stacks of PI equippers Anomaly Buildup Rate is increased by 40%.
As for other recommendations for Engines:
- Fusion Compiler, an S-Rank engine could be useful since Jane is an Anomaly Agent, it will give her an ATK boost and an Anomaly Proficiency with an increase in the boost with how many ranks you have of the Engine.
- Rainforest Gourmet, It’s an A-Rank Engine that will boost ATK for every 10 energy she consumes, it’s a good Free to Play option until something better comes along.
Final Thoughts
Jane Doe will be interesting and hoping she will be top of the list. She is a given pull for me, that I have already saved up a ton for. I was happy playing her during her special episode and I am excited to see her come to the game finally and join my team. Are you going to be pulling for her?
