Some new fighters are entering the area in King Of Fighters XV. Despite the myriad of competitive fighting games that are out there, King Of Fighters has always had longevity. This series was the ‘go-to’ fighting game for all the rare gamers out there who owned a Neo Geo. This title started popping up in arcades worldwide in 1994, only to slowly make its way to the current generation of home consoles. This series has always had its fair share of colorful fighters and this next installment is adding Mature and Vice to spice things up.
Mature and Vice are fan favorites and there have been requests to bring them into King Of Fighters XV for some time. They were finally announced at Evo 2024 which ran from July 19th – 21st. Evo is one of the biggest esports tournament events of the year. It also marks an outlet for future plans and advertisements of the world’s biggest competitive fighting games. This year, there were several announcements made for Fatal Fury, Skull Girls, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter, and others. This event was stuffed with reveals and Mature and Vice was one of the most surprising. Unfortunately, players are going to have to wait for some time before getting their chance to play them.
Sugar and Spice
Mature is Rugal Bernstein’s secretary, who uses her legs to crush opponents. She’s a quick fighter that’s hard to keep up with and she’s not without a strong sense of vanity. She is a tall, deadly assassin who can reach her foes from afar with a variety of long-range attacks. Once in particular, she can dart out her nails like knives. Additionally, she can be a trickster. She has moves where she can summon copies of herself that will trip up her opponents during a match. She is more of a brawler. She likes dishing out fast combos with her slashing attacks and kicks, and she can quickly corner her opponent and tear them down.
The other fighter that’s jumping into the mix in King Of Fighters XV is Vice. She is another secretary of Rugal Bernstein. She and Mature are related to Orochi, which makes them “sisters” to a certain degree. Out of the two, Vice is the ‘mean one.’ She is known for her sadistic attacks and psychotic personality in which she has no shame in ruining her opponents. She is a hybrid fighter. There are some long-range attacks and grappling moves in her trickbag. So, it is known that players can use her as either a zoner or a grappler. She has always been a nimble fighter and she keeps opponents on their toes by switching up tactics.
Talk to the Fist
Mature and Vice won’t be available to play for King Of Fighters XV until this December. Their inclusion in the roster will be marked as the final DLC for this sequel. Their current move set should stay the same, with some enhancements to complement this current installment. We will have to wait until their official gameplay reveal this winter to see what they have to offer. Once Mature and Vice are on the roster, there are going to be some crazy matches online. King Of Fighters XV is now available for; Playstation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
