It’s finally happening! After years of Nintendo’s successful LEGO Super Mario sets, Legend of Zelda fans everywhere will have the chance to have their own Great Deku Tree in Lego form! The most amazing part about this build is that it is a 2-in-1 LEGO set with one build being dedicated to the Ocarina of Time and the other dedicated to Breath of The Wild! Overall, the Legend of Zelda set contains 2500 pieces and is scheduled to be released in early September!
Ocarina of Time
Get ready for a blast from the past with the Ocarina of Time-inspired set that features the Great Deku tree, Link’s Treehouse, a young Link, and an adult Link from the Nintendo 64 title. First, let’s talk about the main attraction itself: the Great Deku tree. Featuring bright green leaves and mouth-like opening we are transported right back into one of the most beloved Legend of Zelda games. There’s even a surprise Skulltula “inside” the set and a hidden treasure chest. Out front, we have two Deku Baba enemies just like the ones you run into on your way to meet with the Great Deku tree for the first time, and the oh-so-precious Deku Tree sprout.
Link and His Treehouse
Along with the Deku Tree, we are getting Link’s treehouse from the start of the game. The treehouse features a sign and the iconic ladder that so many gamers unintentionally let go of instead of climbing down when first leaving Link’s humble abode. My favorite feature of this small addition is the small replica of everyone’s favorite annoyance, Navi! Adult Link comes with his very own Ocarina while Young Link carries around his trusty shield and sword ready for the battle at any turn! While it’s not the most intricate addition of the two sets, it’s sure to bring all of the nostalgia.
Breath of The Wild
The Breath of the Wild–inspired set features the Great Deku Tree blooming with cherry blossom-like leaves, a ton of greenery, and multiple Korok kids running around. This set also features an “inside,” but instead of an enemy, we are greeted with a bed and cooking pot. At the top of the Deku tree, we have another Korok kid with an apple and a pink fairy floating around that I’m sure I will find a way to scare off instead of catching like usual! This set comes with Link in his Champions Tunic wielding the Master Sword and Hylian Shield, the studious Princess Zelda holding the Sheikah Slate, and our favorite musical hero Hestu!
A New Horizon of Hope
Nintendo and LEGO have had an incredible relationship since 2020 when they announced their collaboration on LEGO Super Mario. It was the first time we got to see a LEGO featuring an LED screen that had special interactions with the different pieces that came with the set. Just before this set was announced, Nintendo released 7 different Animal Crossing New Horizon-inspired LEGO sets, so it’s exhilarating that we are finally having other titles acknowledged! Hopefully, with the anticipation of this set and the overwhelming response we will be seeing more iconic titles getting their own LEGO sets!
