Lorcana players will be able to sail the high seas when Lorcana’s sixth set, Azurite Sea releases on November 15th, 2024. Since releasing in August 2023 last year, Lorcana has become a pretty popular trading card game in its own right, and the introduction of a pirate-themed set will no doubt be a big hit for players. Besides a new pirate setting, Azurite Sea will also introduce a new card type called Robot which fits since Baymax and others from Disney’s Big Hero Six are making their debut in this set.
New Character Debuts
Earlier this week, Ravensburger announced the next set for Disney’s Lorcana trading card game. Along with the announcement also came a story trailer which Ravensburger uploaded to YouTube. In the trailer, we see that Baymax from Big Hero Six will be in the set. Baymax won’t be the only Big Hero Six character to debut in Lorcana though as Hiro, Go Go Tomago, Honey Lemon, and Wasabi will also make their debuts as well. Considering this is the sixth Lorcana set, it seems fitting for them to be making their first appearances in the game.
Along with the inclusion of Baymax from Big Hero Six into Lorcana comes a new card type called ‘Robot’. Baymax is the first Robot character to make their way into the game and giving them a new card type makes their introduction feel special on top of also making sense. While Baymax is the only robot to have been spoiled so far, I’m hoping we get to see some more in the upcoming set.
Big Hero Six won’t be the only new property in Lorcana. The characters from the 90s cartoon and 2022 film Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers will also be making their way into the card game into Azurite Sea. So far only Chip, Dale, and Gadget have had cards revealed. I fully expect once spoiler season starts that we’ll also see cards for Monterey Jack, Zipper, and perhaps even the Rescue Ranger’s villain Fat Cat.
Sail The Azurite Sea In Lorcana
Besides new characters being added to the game, we’re also going to be getting new pirate-themed cards for existing characters as well. One of which is Jim Hawkins-Honorable Pirate. Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, Stitch, and Mickey Mouse are just a few of the many pirate cards that will be coming to Lorcana in Azurite Sea. Being a pirate-themed set, it makes sense we’ll be seeing pirate-specific cards for many of the characters.
Overall, the upcoming release is shaping up to be a pretty interesting set. While the next villain hasn’t been revealed quite just yet, I’m hoping it’s Captain Hook because it’d be on the theme for the set. Whether he is or not remains to be seen. Lorcana’s next set will launch on November 15th, 2024 at your Local Games Shop and will be available everywhere else 10 days later on November 25th, 2024.
