A new game from Marvel Games is on its way. Developed in collaboration with Dotemu and Tribute Games, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an arcade-style beat ’em up game reminiscent of titles like Gladiator, Gaia Crusaders, and Riot City. The fate of the universe rests in the players’ hands as they face off against the invasive forces of Annihilus, Ruler of the Negative Zone, in this 2-D side-scroller. The game is set to be released in 2025. Are you up for the challenge?
15 Playable Characters to Choose From
While the full lineup of 15 characters has yet to be released, several characters that are slotted to appear have been mentioned. Many of these characters, all of whom were featured in the trailer, are fan favorites. As of right now, the known characters are Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Venom, Storm, Nova, and Phyla-Vell (Quasar). As for the rest of the cast, you’ll have to wait and see.
Battle Against Waves of Enemies to Progress
With Annihilus’s forces set on destroying the universe, the only way to stop them is to fight. Players need to unleash the full powers of the assembled heroes in order to repel the invasion. They can either stand alone in single-player mode or team up with others in multi-player mode. Marvel Cosmic Invastion promises a fun new experience that feels like you are back in the arcade.
Potential Marvel Cosmic Invasion Characters
The Marvel Universe is vast so there are many possible heroes for Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Its heroes come not just from Earth but from beyond the stars. To that end, predicting who could be a playable character is not an easy feat. Still, if one were to hazard a guess, there are a few names that have a high chance of appearing.
Taking into account the various teams and groups within the Marvel Universe, at the very least, I’d expect characters from The Fantastic Four, The Avengers, The Brotherhood of Mutants, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Asgard to be playable. If I were to name a few names, I think The Human Torch, The Thing, Doctor Strange, Vision, Thor, Adam Warlock, Magneto, and Drax would fill out the roster.

About the Game Developers
As would be expected, Marvel Games is responsible for almost all of the games set in the Marvel Universe that have been released since 2009. Some of their games include Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Marvel Snap (a collectible card game), and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
Dotemu, a French game developer and publisher, has been in business since 2007. They are best known for their remakes and remasters of old games. Some of their titles include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, and Street Fighters II: Champion Edition.
Tribute Games, the newest of the three developers, is an independent studio founded in 2011. Their founders, Jonathan Lavigne, Jean-Francois Major, and Justin Cyr are former Ubisoft employees who are known for their work on TMNT and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game. This is their second collaboration with Dotemu and their first with Marvel Games.
