NetEase Listen To Fans For Marvel Rivels

It was just the other day that NetEase Games gave the players something to chew on in Marvel Rivals: that on February 21, the halfway mark for Season 1, they would be changing everyone’s ranks. Marvel Rival players have been competing in competitive matches and receiving rank depending on how well they play. That was all going to change.

Every gamer rank in Marvel Rivals was going to drop four divisions. That would have meant that if you were moving up the ranks and really tarring into the other team enough to make them develop eating disorders and were Diamond 1, you would have dropped to a Platinum 2. If that hadn’t been bad enough things would have been worse as further rank drops were to come at the beginning of the next season.

Quick To Respond

It only took 14 hours for their original rank reduction to be rescinded. NetEase Games noted all the feedback about their original announcement that having the rank reset part way through the season would make the game less enjoyable. Now, there will not be any midseason rank resets or lowering.

For great Marvel Rival players, there is more good news. On the 21st, there will be rewards for players; the higher the rank, the higher the reward. After the halfway point of the season and rewards are given, players will have the chance to complete challenges by the end of the season. Those who do will get a new Gold rank costume and a variety of Honor Crests, depending on rank.

For those new to the game or who don’t know, here is how Marvel Rivals ranking works in competitive mode. Once the player starts the game, they select competitive mode and prove themselves against other players who share a similar skill level. Players are awarded their first Bronze III rank level. With each victory, the Marvel Rival player is awarded points, moving them up the ranks toward higher divisions.

How Ranking Works

In being awarded points, team victory is much more important than individual achievements. Doing better and winning as a team gives more points than anything. That also speaks true to losing as a team. Every time a player’s team loses, they lose points and can even drop in rank. The ranking goes from tier III-I in Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternal, and One Above All.

In the rank system, the season rewards mentioned earlier, players who have reached Gold III or higher will get a Blood Shield Invisible Woman costume. Grandmaster III and higher get the Silver Crest of Honor, and the Gold Crest of Honor will go to the One Above Al rank top 500 players. That isn’t the only reward and prize coming for players. New things aren’t coming just to the high-ranked competitive players.

Two More Coming

Marvel Rivals’ midseason has the next two long-awaited hero additions: The Thing and Human Torch. The next two Fantastic Four team members are coming. NetEase is also promising some adjustments to help balance the gameplay. Marvel Rivals has listened to its players and quickly responded, improving its game for everyone.
