NetEase Games has released Marvel Rivals, an upcoming free-to-play third-person new hero shoot-em-up game. It will be available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S upon its release. Some good news is that it will be free-to-play, offering 21 Marvel Comics characters to choose from. This game is all about fighting as your favorite heroes across the multiverse, creating your own abilities, and facing off in different, changing locations. San Diego Comic-Con has the latest about Marvel Rivals in trailers and information, so let’s get to it.
Join The Heroes Or Villains In Marvel Rivals
NetEase Games has released great projects such as Onmyoji, LifeAfter, Badlands, and The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War. Marvel Rivals resembles the design and combat mechanics of Overwatch. It will be six versus six in third-party play. The game is set to combine two or three players, and players can use their Dynamic Hero Synergy to create the greatest balanced team. Players will also enjoy a killer graphic setting that features destructible environments, allowing changes to be made to the battlefield.
It appears that Doctor Doom is at it again, coiling multiple universes, bringing new worlds, areas, and battlefields to the game. It’s a multiverse of heroes and villains fighting for what was once theirs and what could be. Once you join the fight, you have 21 of your favorite characters to choose from. Be your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Punisher, or more. We know of two locations in the game so far: Yggsgard, which is a fusion of Asgard and Yggdrasil, and Tokyo in 2099.
The Comic-Con Marvel Rivals panel was comprised of the NetEase Games creative team. They spoke about their new trailer for Venom, our favorite space symbiote. They showcased his abilities, taking down characters left and right in true Venom style. Other characters in other trailers were the Golden Child, Adam Warlock, Doctor Strange, Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and more. It appears that Marvel Rivals will offer a closed beta testing event, tournaments, and Twitch drops. They will start July 23rd at 22:00 UTC/3:00 PM PDT/6:00 PM EDT/July 24th at 7:00 UTC+9).
The Closed Beta will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam until August 5th. Its in-game event will offer Galacta’s Quest, where players can complete quests, earn event XP, and unlock various rewards. One is the closed beta exclusive Venom costume, “Cyan Clash.” Players can only get it in the Closed Beta Test and find it in the official launch of the game under the same account.
The Closed Beta Test Is Kicking Off On July 23rd
Players in the Beta will get to play War of the Realms, a two-phase mode. It’s another six versus six tournament. Registration for that opens July 25 and goes to the 30th (UTC). If you are looking to go for the tournaments, they begin July 30th and run until August 4th (UTC). With the upcoming closed beta test, we can assume that it is still being worked on, as we do not have a confirmed release date yet. We hope it will keep with the traditions of most games and be released this fall. That may also include an open beta between then, which could be around September or October.
Sign up and take part in Marvel Rivals’ new look and style of play and see what NetEase Games has in store for you. Feel the power of the Gama radiation flow through you as you get angry; the ark reactor powers your iron suit as you fly and save the little kid down the street as you swing into action as Spider-Man. All this and more will be available soon, and some players can get an early taste of the action.
