MLB The Show 25: Best Teams To Join As A Center Fielder

MLB The Show 25 best teams to join in Road to the Show as a center fielder

MLB The Show 25 is finally here! The annual release of the series brings new excitement for baseball and sports gaming fans. One of the most popular modes in the game is the Road to the Show. For years, players have loved creating their own personas and climbing the ranks of the minor leagues. How soon a player can get called up to the major leagues depends on your player’s position and the team that drafts you. Getting drafted by a team that is stacked at your position could mean a long slog in the minors. Here are the best teams to get drafted by as a center fielder.

Let’s start with a caveat. You have to be good in the minor leagues. It doesn’t matter what position you play if you swing at bad pitches, miss your spots, or make boneheaded baserunning errors. This list is meant to look at where there is the most opportunity to get to the majors as quickly as possible based on the projected Opening Day starter. However, it is also meant to showcase some unexpected teams for each position and ones that could be competing for the World Series soon. The Athletics are great, but you probably won’t be winning many championships in the near future. Onto the list!

Texas Rangers

Projected Starter: Leody Taveras 74 Overall in MLB The Show 25

The Rangers head into 2025 with questions at center field. Their outfield, in general, is up in the air, especially in center field. Taveras is the projected Opening Day starter. He is coming off a mediocre year. While he had 23 stolen bases and played in 151 games, he only hit .229 with 112 strikeouts. The pitching staff is solid, led by Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi, but they need a little more pop in the lineup.

This is where you come in. Any team that has a platoon at a position is a good option in Road to the Show. Getting to 74 overall isn’t difficult if you are a seasoned player, and in no time, you could be in the majors. Furthermore, Texas gets to feed on some of the bottom-feeders in the league. The Angels and Athletics are in the division, making it easy to rack up wins.

Philadelphia Phillies

Projected Starter: Brandon Marsh 76 Overall in MLB The Show 25

The Phillies boast one of the best batting lineups in baseball. Bryce Harper is the main star, but he is far from the only one. Trea Turner is a quality leadoff hitter. Kyle Schwarber has still shown some good power, and having Nick Castellanos near the bottom of the order isn’t a bad thing. Marsh is the projected nine-hole hitter. His batting average has decreased every year while his strikeouts have gone up.

Getting into a lineup led by Bryce Harper is a great way to win some games in MLB The Show 25. This team might be a little harder to get called up by, as a 76 overall isn’t super low. However, if you can rack up the tokens quickly, the team might have no choice but to call you up. Furthermore, this team is ready to compete now with a strong pitching staff.

Toronto Blue Jays

Projected Starter: Nathan Lukes 70 Overall in MLB The Show 25

Toronto is an interesting team in 2025. The top four in their hitting lineup is as solid as any. Bo Bichette, Vladamir Guerrero Jr., and George Springer are a gauntlet to get through. For the purposes here, I’m not worried about the Guerrero Jr. contract situation. Nathan Lukes is entering his third year, and he has shown promise over his first two seasons. Last season, he hit .303 but only had 91 plate appearances. He is a young, unproven player the team hasn’t committed to.

In the Road to the Show mode, players don’t create a player that is simply good. It’s set up for you to become a legendary player. Usurping Lukes shouldn’t be difficult. There are some questions about the long-term success of this current group, but I’d feel great about joining this organization.

Final Thoughts

MLB The Show 25 made some awesome improvements to Road to the Show this year. Adding in college teams adds another layer of realism to the game. Are you ready to become the next Hall of Fame center fielder? Getting drafted by the right team is essential to your success. Make your choice carefully to maximize your legacy!
