MLB The Show 25: Best Teams To Join As A First Baseman

MLB The Show 25 Best teams for a first baseman in Road to the Show

MLB The Show 25 is finally here! The annual release of the series brings new excitement for baseball and sports gaming fans. One of the most popular modes in the game is the Road to the Show. For years, players have loved creating their own personas and climbing the ranks of the minor leagues. How soon a player can get called up to the major leagues depends on your player’s position and the team that drafts you. Getting drafted by a team that is stacked at your position could mean a long slog in the minors. Here are the best teams to get drafted by as a first baseman.

Let’s start with a caveat. You have to produce in the minor leagues. It doesn’t matter what position you play if you swing at bad pitches, miss your spots, or make boneheaded baserunning errors. This list is meant to look at where there is the most opportunity to get to the majors as quickly as possible based on the overall of the current starter of the team. However, it is also meant to showcase some unexpected teams for each position. The Chicago White Sox need everything but may not be the most interesting to play for. Onto the list!

Baltimore Orioles

Projected Starter: Ryan Mountcastle 76 Overall in MLB The Show 25

The Baltimore Orioles are loaded with young talent. Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman are two of the most exciting players in the league. Jackson Holiday made his major league debut last year and will hopefully show improvement in 2025. This team is built around power and speed. Sports Illustrated has this team ranked in the top ten, making it one of the teams that will be competing for a World Series in the near future (if not this year).

It may come as a shock that first base isn’t a strength of this team. MLB The Show 25 has Mountcastle as a 76 overall, and he is slated to bat seventh in the order. Last season, he had a .271 batting average with 13 home runs and 63 RBIs. If you get drafted by Baltimore in Road to the Show, it may not take much to get called up to the big leagues. Once you get there, this team is already primed for success, meaning you could add World Series rings to your trophy case very soon.

Milwaukee Brewers

Projected Starter: Rhys Hoskins 75 Overall in MLB The Show 25

Don’t look now, but the Milwaukee Brewers have won three of the last four NL Central division titles. They have one of the rising stars in the game, Jackon Chourio. Even though they are a small market team, they consistently seem to be in the mix for the division. Strong pitching and strong defense define this team. They aren’t the most highly rated team in MLB The Show 25, but they always seem to be underrated by people outside the organization.

Hoskins was a quality signing for the Brewers last year. However, this is a ton of room for improvement in the position. Last season, he only had a .214 batting average with 26 home runs and 82 RBIs. It was very much sink or swim for him at the plate. If your player can even bat .250 without sacrificing the power numbers, you could find yourself in the big leagues soon.

Seattle Mariners

Projected Starter: Luke Raley 74 Overall in MLB The Show 25

The Seattle Mariners have one of the best young players in Julio Rodriguez. They are also in a very winnable division with lots of games against the Angels and Athletics on the schedule. The rest of the roster is very solid, and Sports Illustrated has them as a top-ten team in the game. They could use an upgrade at first base.

The projected starter is Luke Raley. Last season, he only had a .243 batting average with 22 home runs and 58 RBIs. There is plenty of room for improvement there. Beating a 74 overall in Road to the Show is very doable, especially for the seasoned player. When you do get called up, there is a chance you are already in the middle of a division race and pushing for the playoffs.

Final Thoughts

MLB The Show 25 made some awesome improvements to Road to the Show this year. Adding in college teams adds another layer of realism to the game. Getting drafted by the right team is essential to your success. Make your choice carefully to maximize your legacy!
