MLB The Show 25 is finally here! The annual release of the series brings new excitement for baseball and sports gaming fans. One of the most popular modes in the game is the Road to the Show. For years, players have loved creating their own personas and climbing the ranks of the minor leagues. How soon a player can get called up to the major leagues depends on your player’s position and the team that drafts you. Getting drafted by a team that is stacked at your position could mean a long slog in the minors. Here are the best teams to get drafted by as a left fielder.
MLB The Show 25: Best Teams For A Left Fielder
Let’s start with a caveat. You have to be good in the minor leagues. It doesn’t matter what position you play if you swing at bad pitches, miss your spots, or make boneheaded baserunning errors. This list is meant to look at where there is the most opportunity to get to the majors as quickly as possible based on the projected Opening Day starter. However, it is also meant to showcase some unexpected teams for each position and ones that could be competing for the World Series soon. The Athletics are great, but you probably aren’t winning many championships in the near future. Onto the list!
Philadelphia Phillies
Projected Starter: Max Kepler 75 Overall in MLB The Show 25
The Phillies have plenty of power in their hitting lineup. Led by Bryce Harper, this lineup is just as potent as the Dodgers. Kepler is a 10-year veteran who was signed from the Twins this offseason. He is a solid veteran who hit .253 last year with eight home runs and 42 RBIs. This is great for Philadelphia in real life as he doesn’t have to be the star in the lineup. For your purposes, he’s an easy target to replace.
Kepler is a modest 75 overall and his projected to be in the sixth spot in the lineup. If you are a young power-hitter and dominate triple-A, the team could look to you as an upgrade over the veteran. Furthermore, this team has a solid pitching rotation that can help carry this team to the postseason.
San Diego Padres
Projected Starter: Jason Heyward 73 Overall in MLB The Show 25
The Padres are going with a platoon at left field this season. Connor Joe is the other player slated to take reps out in left field. Heyward hasn’t been the same player since 2020, hitting sub .250 four of the past five seasons. Joe has similar stats and is definitely more of a platoon-type player. This lineup still has plenty of pop with Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado and need some people to get on base.
San Diego needs more batters to set the table for their big hitters. This is where your Road to the Show player comes into play. Especially if your player is a speed archetype, you can easily carve out a spot in this lineup. The Padres are in a rough division but have the star-power to compete in the National League.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Projected Starter: Michael Conforto 73 Overall in MLB The Show 25
It’s hard to break up the top six of the Dodgers lineup. The team has spent over a billion dollars to solidify this team as the premier powerhouse in the MLB. The bottom three spots in the order are up for grabs. Conforto came over from the Giants this offseason. He had a decent on-base percentage last season but only hit .237. He is a solid veteran, but that makes him ripe for replacement in MLB The Show 25.
If you want to win as many World Series rings as possible, getting drafted by the Dodgers is probably your best bet. There are two reasons you could get called up quickly. The first is the overall rating. Getting to a 73 overall isn’t hard. The second is that Conforto is a veteran and will likely see his production tail off soon in the game simulation. That is your opportunity to strike and join this juggernaut team.
Final Thoughts
MLB The Show 25 made some awesome improvements to Road to the Show this year. Adding in college teams adds another layer of realism to the game. Are you ready to rob some home runs in left field? Getting drafted by the right team is essential to your success. Make your choice carefully to maximize your legacy!
