His batting average was .255 last year after being an abysmal .203 the year prior.
Can your Road to the Show player stay on the field? Congrats! You have a great shot at being the next starting shortstop for the Boston Red Sox. Trevor Story is just a name at this point. He isn’t good at racking up any stats except strikeouts, amassing 341 in three seasons. Every season, he has two weeks where it seems like he is returning to form before returning to his old habits.

Having the name on the team is nice, but at some point, the production has to be there. Detroit has built up an elite pitching staff led by Tarik Skubal. Giving them run support could make them one of the best teams in the American League. If you can be even above-average in the minors, the team could call you up very soon.
Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks made the biggest move of the offseason, signing former Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes. They have built a quality pitching staff and have some great young hitters in the lineup led by Corbin Carroll. Perdomo has some very good aspects to his game. He led the league sacrifice bunts in 2022 and 2023, showcasing his ability to provide the team with whatever they need. Perdomo has improved his batting average every year, hitting .273 last season. However, he isn’t much more than a quality rotation player and someone who can occupy the nine-hole in the order.
In Road to the Show, it might be a little harder to unseat this player, but definitely not impossible. You don’t have to unseat a middle-of-the-order power-hitter. Any team would trade a slightly above-average bat for a player with elite skills who could anchor their order for years to come.
