Monster Hunter Wilds’ Benchmark tool can save you a cause of concern. Having the concern that your PC can’t handle a certain game is a nightmare for a PC gamer. One that plagues me as well as most of the Monster Hunter community as pre-requisites for Monster Hunter Wilds was a bit too high. Now, there is a benchmark tool that you can access to confirm what steps you need to take to get it running smoothly.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ Benchmark Tool
Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Benchmark download and usage is simple. All you need to do is go to the steam page of Monster Hunter Wilds and download their Benchmark tool from there. After it is done downloading, you will start it up, and it will begin to download the shaders as normal. After this long process, it will open the title screen, and you will select “Start Benchmark.” It will begin to process the game through the beginning cutscene and the pre-generated male hunter riding his Sekrit through the plains, encountering various monsters, before riding into a small village and interacting with one final cutscene.
For the entire process, Monster Hunter Wilds’ Benchmark Tool will keep a tab on frames, if and when they drop, and what your average will be during the gameplay. I am running mine on a 4070 super with an 11th-generation i7 processor with 64 GB of RAM, if I was running something in the background, it would score me at a “Good” the second highest, but without something in the background, it would be considered “excellent.” To get a value of the chart, you can find the link here.
While the situation is always changing, and even so, optimization can get better, this will help you get a good idea of if you should get Monster Hunter Wilds for your PC or Console or if you need to upgrade to get the best out of the game. But if you are like me, and want to make sure to know if they can play the game, then I would download it as soon as you can as it will be a lifesaver as this will let you know for the full release of the game.
That being said the benchmark does not reflect the beta, as the beta is not updated to the same as the full game. Monster Hunter Wilds dropped a new showcase yesterday introducing new and returning monsters as well as Arkveld for the 2nd Beta, they revealed a bunch of new things coming in the full game release.
