All Consoles For Monster Hunter Wilds in 2024

Monster Hunter Wilds Gamescom 2024

As the world waits for more news about Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s good to know just how many people will be able to experience the game.  Specifically, it’s important to know which platforms will have the upcoming title added to physical and digital stores. Luckily for fans of the series, it’s coming to most of the current generation big-name consoles. However, one console is being left out of the fun.

The Available Platforms

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to be released for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. For PC users, they can grab the game from Steam or buy the physical version of the game. As of now, a physical version is expected to be released for the consoles as well. Speaking of the consoles, Monster Hunter Wilds is releasing sometime in 2025, which means it comes after the release of the PS5 Pro. The console officially launches on November 7 for about $700 before taxes, shipping, and add-ons. It’s currently unknown if Wilds will be getting an Enhanced version of the game for the console.

Sadly for those who enjoy gaming on the Nintendo Switch, the game doesn’t seem to be releasing on the console. The same can be speculated for the still unannounced Switch 2. For veteran players, this does not come as a surprise. Games in each generation tend to have a mainline game and a portable game. Monster Hunter World was the mainline game of the last generation, and Rise was the portable game. The next game after Wilds will most likely be released to the Switch 2 as well as the rest of the consoles and PC.

Monster Hunter Goes Cross-Platform

For people playing on the platforms the game is released on, they will get to experience something huge within the world of Monster Hunter games. They will be able to play with their fellow hunters no matter what platform they are using. At Summer Game Fest 2024, it was officially announced that cross-platform cooperation will be available in the game. This is something that players practically begged to be added to the series.

Along with this news, it was also announced that the game will be released on each platform at the same time. With World, PC users had to wait 6 months longer than console users for their chance to play. Now everyone buying the game on day one will have the potential to interact with each other if they choose to do so. However, some hunters like roughing it out by themselves, and that is perfectly valid too.

Conclusion

While the general public still has no solid idea as to when Monster Hunter Wilds will be released, it’s good to know exactly what it will be released on. At the moment, any sort of tidbit or any new small detail continues to add to the already substantial hype this game has surrounding it. The fact that players across the available platforms will be able to explore these details and solve mysteries about the game at the same time makes them oh so sweeter.
