Monster Hunter Wilds Pre-Release: All 23 Exciting Confirmed Monsters

Monster Hunter Wilds Doshaguma

Monster Hunter Wilds is only hours away from full release, even if content creators are being seen playing it early. From December 2023 to just a couple of weeks ago, we have seen many trailers, community livestreams, and other types of announcements. We’ve certainly come a long way from the exciting teaser we saw during The Game Awards. For some, this might make it a bit hard to keep track of the monster roster. Luckily, we have the full list of confirmed monsters before release right here. We also have the class they fit into if they do indeed currently fit into one of them.

Monster Hunter Wilds’ Interesting Cast

Just by looking at the pre-release monster roster, it’s clear that Monster Hunter Wilds is set to be a diverse entry into the series. However, there is a notable lack of Piscine Wyverns, Carapaceons, Fanged Wyverns, Snake Wyverns, and Neopterons. Elder Dragons are also nowhere to be seen as of yet unless you count Gore Magala as one instead of a “???” monster. It does eventually become the Elder Dragon, Shagaru Magala. That is, of course, unless its molting process doesn’t get interrupted, which can cause it to become a violent Chaotic Gore Magala.

There are also the cases of Arkveld and Jin Dahaad. Both of their classes remain unknown. However, Jin is looking a bit more on the Leviathan side, which may be disappointing to fans of large Snake Wyverns, which only include Najarala and its Tidal subspecies. Since the majority of the world is yet to experience the full game, we may see some new Snake Wyverns just yet. We may also see an even more diverse cast of powerful foes that are just primed and ready for a bit of hunting. Players around the world are chomping at the bit to take all of them down either solo or with fellow hunters.

The Future of the Roster

The monster roster is only set to get bigger in the months following the release of Monster Hunter Wilds. With several title updates already confirmed, hunters are guaranteed more challenging fights ahead of the inevitable giant expansion. Mizutsune is already confirmed to be in the first title update, but the Monster Hunter team has teased on social media that it will include at least one other monster that will be quite the challenge. The first title update is slated to be released in early April.
