There’s giant news for Monster Hunter fans. Another new monster has been revealed for Monster Hunter Wilds. That reveal happened during Opening Night Live at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Along with that news, another locale and more NPCs were briefly shown. The name of a previously seen monster has also been announced. Thanks to the trailer, even more excitement has been fueled in the hearts of hunters globally. Here’s the latest involving the much-anticipated game.
A New Spider for Monster Hunter Wilds
The newest monster is called Lala Barina. It’s a giant and fluffy Temnoceran. The monster’s main habitat is in the Scarlet Forest, which is a new locale that was also revealed in the same trailer. Lala Barina’s thorax can open up at will, which resembles a beautiful rose in bloom. Fans have been speculating that there would be a new spider monster in Monster Hunter Wilds. Now they have been pleasantly proved correct.
Lala Barina joins Chatacabra, Doshaguma, Balahara, and the newly-named Rey Dau. The latter is the lightning-based monster that Capcom showed off briefly in a previous trailer. The Flying Wyvern is the apex monster of the Windward Plains. It can discharge lightning with its powerful attacks, which makes a battle against it shocking for even veteran hunters.
Confirmed and Expected Returning Monsters
Along with the new monsters, there are already some familiar faces expected to show up. Rathalos has already been confirmed to be in the game. The King of the Skies was seen flying in the announcement trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds during The Game Awards in 2023. While not officially confirmed to return, Rathian is very likely to be in the game. Both she and Rathalos have never missed out on a single Monster Hunter game. Don’t expect the Queen of the Skies to be left out now.
Congalala is expected to return to Monster Hunter Wilds by many fans of the series. This is due to a recently revealed armor set that looks similar to the Conga armor of the past. However, the Pink Fured Beast has not been officially confirmed by Capcom. If it does end up rearing its face again and showing off its intimidating hairstyle, many hunters will be happy.
Conclusion
With the reveal of a new monster and locations within the game, the excitement for the game’s release is at an all-time high. Crowds of Monster Hunter Fans won’t have to wait for a hands-on experience with the game though. Stations for the first playable demo are set up at Gamescom for them to enjoy. For most hunters though, they’ll be waiting until 2025 to get their much-anticipated fill. While there is still no confirmed release date for the game yet, the general consensus is that it will truly be worth the wait.
