How to Spot Traitors in ARC Raiders: 7 Essential Tips
One thing that definitely sets ARCRaiders apart from other FPS shooters are the traitors you may encounter during your runs. The ability to form temporary alliances as well as break them is an interesting concept, which keeps players coming back even after 2 months since the game launched. Being betrayed isn’t the best feeling, especially when you realize it way too late. So, how can you spot a traitor in ARC Raiders? What are the signs that let you know you’re in the midst of one? Here are 7 ways to spot a traitor in ARC Raiders.
1. Your Shadow
One of the most obvious signs of spotting a traitor in your team is finding your shadow. This person will follow you closely at all times. They will always follow behind you, circle you from time to time, and insist on keeping their weapon drawn.
The best way to confront this situation is to ask them point-blank for them to put their weapon away. The best-case scenario is avoiding conflict altogether; however, if you are in fact face-to-face with a traitor, take immediate cover, and smoke grenades are a godsend in these situations.
2. The Never-Looter
Traitors often don’t loot or interact with objects, as they obstruct your surroundings, so be on the lookout for this type of behavior. Not only does looting distract you, but you also stockpile the loot in your inventory, making it easier for traitors to steal it from you. Always be on your guard.
3. Magnetic Eyes – Traitor Tell
In ARC Raiders, your character turns their head as you move the camera, which indicates to other players where you’re looking. If they keep swivelling their head to keep you in their sight, that means they’re watching, and you have to run. However, don’t be conspicuous. If you can see their head swivel, they can definitely see you.
4. The Silent Type
Players without mics are more likely to betray you. However, that doesn’t automatically mean these silent-type players are traitors. You should definitely worry if you have a teammate who was talking; go radio silent. It could mean anything, but always be on your guard.
5. The Shifty Guy
Betrayal is tough work. You have to actively lie, sneak, and come up with your own plans to betray your teammates successfully, and this could lead to shifty behavior. Look out for this. It’s most likely that your teammate is planning things behind your back, and the more odd or exaggerated their behavior is, the more likely it is that they have less than righteous actions.
6. Getting Personal
If you find yourself face-to-face with someone asking you a million questions, be wary. Often, they’re up to no good. If someone starts asking you questions like “What gear have you found?” or “What level is that gun?”, most likely they are trying to steal from you, so be very careful what information you give up, if any.
7. “What team are you?”
If you didn’t know, the self-declared war between the followers of two streamers – TheBurntPeanut and HutchMF – is technically over for now, but you may run into people who still ask whether you’re a Bungulator or an FMFer. This is still a sore subject for some followers, so be extra careful how you answer.
Trusting your instincts can go a long way when it comes to playing ARC Raiders. If you feel something is off about a particular player, take cover, call out their behavior, ask for an explanation, and weigh their response. Always be on your guard and never give too much away.
