Marvel Rivals Newest Character Deadpool Full Guide – Abilities, How to Play, and Best Team Comps

Marvel Rivals has just unveiled its newest and most anticipated character, Deadpool, and they did not disappoint fans of the game. As a fan-favorite character in Marvel, people have been eager to see what NetEase has in store for him, and what his kit would look like, given that the Merc with a Mouth is such a unique character among Marvel heroes. Here is a full guide to Marvel Rivals’ newest character, Deapool.

Introducing the First Triple-Role Hero

Deadpool is a unique character, even among the most unique Marvel heroes. Besides being popularized in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his character is a martial arts master with his iconic dual katanas and dual pistols, and has regenerative healing abilities similar to Wolverine.

So, of course, NetEase needed to make his kit match his uniqueness, making him the first triple-role hero, where he can be played as either a Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist. You will even be able to switch between these roles mid-match at the spawn area.

How to Play Deadpool

His basic kit remains the same across all roles, switching his basic attack between dual guns and dual katanas. He has a double jump ability and passive healing. The thing that makes each role different is his secondary attack and E skill, which changes into a unique ability. He also has a progression mechanic, where he must level up during the match to upgrade his skills. Here are the different roles you can choose to play with Deadpool:

Vanguard Deadpool

This role can throw a Unicorn Plushie that creates a protective shield, blocking enemy attacks. This role makes him effective as both a DPS and a support, especially with upgraded abilities, where you gain a bunch of buffs to protect your teammates. He’ll also have two different ultimates for both your guns and katanas.

The Gun Ultimate taunts enemies and grants bonus HP. Enemies who miss abilities further empower Deadpool. The Katana Ultimate grants speed, healing, bonus HP, and combo challenges. Completing combos amplifies survivability and can reset Healing Factor, which would look like his fast regenerative abilities in the comics and the films.

Duelist Deadpool

This role is more of a DPS, as a high-mobility skirmisher built around resets, burst damage, and execution. Taunting is essential in this role as it provides damage reduction and completely obliterates enemies when your abilities are upgraded.

His Gun Ultimate heals and shields allies while punishing enemy misses with additional buffs, whereas his Katana Ultimate does massive team healing that scales with enemy hits. It can be extended and upgraded to grant bonus HP and reset Healing Factor.

Strategist Deadpool

Strategist Deadpool’s main ability is healing, making this a heavy support role. His heals come in clutch because doing damage also heals his allies, and his healing output is so much. Because this role focuses on healing, there are no ultimates for this particular role; however, the ability upgrades buff his healing to obscene levels.

Team-Up Ability

Deadpool serves as the anchor for the “Mr. Pool’s Interdimensional Toy Box” Team-Up, with Jeff the Land Shark acting as the activator. The way this works is Jeff spits out a toy that sprays water in an area, healing allies while also creating an interference effect for enemies within its AOE.

This is definitely a Deadpool-like ability because of how absurdly disruptive it is, which matches his famously likeable dark humor. This skill looks especially annoying to deal with in combat and can easily throw off enemy positioning and awareness.
