(Marvel vs. Capcom) MvC Fighting Collection is a series of old arcade games coming to the stores in 2024 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). These arcade games contain seven 2D crossover titles from Marvel and Capcom and are developed by Bandai Namco. Recently it was announced in a brand-new trailer that a new title will be added to the collection called X-Men: Children of Atom which was originally released in December 1994.
X-Men: Children of Atom
X-Men: Children of Atom features iconic characters from the beloved Marvel X-Men series. Players can choose from a roster of 13 characters and play in co-op with their friends or be competitive. Similar to how Street Fighter 2 used to perform, players can perform plenty of combos and super jumps that chain perfectly well. There is a lot of freedom in the fighting style with each character bringing his playstyle and identity to MvC Fighting Collection.
Characters Included
In the original version of X-Men: Children of Atom, there were 10 playable characters. In the MvC Fighting Collection, however, the number of playable characters has been increased to 13. Juggernaut, Magneto, and Akuma will be joining the roster when the game releases in 2024. All the characters that players will be able to fight with are:
- Wolverine: A powerful, aggressive character, possessing speedy combos and decent range.
- Psylocke: A versatile character, possessing teleportation as well as ranged projectile attacks.
- Cyclops: A highly damaging character capable of annihilating opposing players with his beam attacks.
- Storm: One of the most versatile characters, having movement which makes her both aggressive and defensive.
- Iceman: A character with one of the quickest abilities, capable of punishing characters with high mobility.
- Colossus: High-damaging character that lacks mobility but is most resistant to stagger.
- Spiral: A mystical character, capable of teleporting and performing quick attack combos.
- Silver Samurai: A classic samurai character possessing some of the highest-range attacks.
- Omega Red: A powerful mutant possessing amazing strength, agility, mobility, and durability.
- Sentinel: A mutant-hunting machine that has one of the highest damage-per-hit ratings.
- Juggernaut: An absolute beast of a character capable of doing some highly damaging attacks.
- Magneto: The ultimate villain of the game, Magneto is one of the strongest characters.
- Akuma: Originally from the Street Fighter series, Akuma is a secret playable character.
Other Features
X-Men: Children of Atom in MvC Fighting Collection will also have features not included in the original version. One of the features is the addition of Training Node. Players will be able to enter the Training Node with any character they want and can be familiar with their skills and combos by fighting against bot enemies. This Node will also come with a stat bar in the right corner of the screen so that players can keep track of their progress. There will also be a Museum section where die-hard fans of the series can view document material and concept designs for the game. This section will also include the original soundtrack of the game.
