6 New Creatures Coming to Ark: Survival Ascended

Ark: Survival Ascended is an action-adventure survival game developed by Studio Wildcard, where players find themselves stranded on mysterious islands, also known as ARKs, inhabited by dinosaurs. Starting out with nothing, it’s up to you to craft the means of survival and tame the local wildlife.

Let’s take a look at the 6 new creatures coming to Ark: Survival Ascended and their associated maps. For more information on map release dates, check out Ark: Survival Ascended Map Release Dates. Without further delay, let’s dive into what’s coming with this new update! Can you survive?

6 New Creatures Coming to Ark: Survival Ascended

With some map releases, Wildcard is introducing new creatures. These creatures often reflect the theme of the map and provide challenges for players, developers have done a great job at making creature taming more unique so the game doesn’t get too repetitive.

The Island: Rhyniognatha

The Rhyniognatha was a new addition to The Island map. It can primarily be found in the Swamp Biome. This ginormous insect is very aggressive and poses a significant threat to players. What makes the Rhyniognatha unique is its ability to shoot poisonous projectiles, making it a great PVP creature as well as very dangerous for players who don’t have a fast mount to get away.

Scorched Earth: Oasisaur

The Oasisaur, my current favorite of the 5 new creatures coming to Ark: Survival Ascended, is a large invertebrate dinosaur, its unique feature is the platform on its back that can hold small biomes. They’re great tames for those looking to have a portable base! The Oasisaur is a very docile creature that’s difficult to tame and is capable of damaging players with powerful stomps and swiping attacks when provoked.

Scorched Earth: Fasolasuchus

Fasolasuchus, found on Scorched Earth, is a daunting predator adapted to survive in harsh desert conditions. It has the unique ability to swim through sand and has a tail that you can use to whip sand at opponents to blind them. The Fasolasuchus will be a key creature for PvP servers.

Aberration: Yi Ling

Yi Ling is one of the most controversial of the 5 new creatures coming to Ark: Survival Ascended, which is why fans are not thrilled about this addition. It will have the ability to cling to walls and glide short distances, sound familiar? That’s because we already have a creature that can do these things, the Rock Drake. However, the Yi Ling looks more like a raptor than a Rock Drake.

Extinction: Dreadnoughtus

Dreadnoughtus, a behemoth of a dinosaur that will roam Extinctions desolate wastelands, is a sight to behold. With its massive size and awesome-looking armored plating, it serves as a formidable guardian. That is, if you can tame it!

The Center: Shastasaurus

Shastasaurus is the community creature winner for The Center map. The Center was supposed to be the first additional map for the game but was delayed. Players are awaiting its debut along with The Center map; speculation continues to run rampant about what its main purpose will be in the game.

Can We Expect More New Creatures?

Yes! The 6 new creatures coming to Ark: Survival Ascended listed above are ones that Studio Wildcard has officially announced. However, it’s safe to assume that each overhauled map will have at least one new creature added to it.

The 7 other maps have not had any creature announcements as of yet. Additionally, if developers add any brand new maps to the game that adds even more possibilities!
