7 Exciting Upcoming Games With The Same Release Date

June 5, 2025, is shaping up to be one of the busiest days in recent gaming history as seven highly anticipated upcoming games land on multiple platforms simultaneously. From the racing thrills of Mario Kart World to the narrative depth of Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4, having it all on one date has something for every type of gamer.

In this article, we’re going to find out why June 5, 2025, is such a historic release date and break down each of the seven upcoming games that you won’t want to miss.

The 7 Upcoming Games

1. Mario Kart World

While there are more than enough upcoming games, most eyes are on this one. Nintendo’s newest title in its hit kart‐racing franchise, Mario Kart World, arrives on Switch 2 alone. As per usual, there’ll be no PC, no cross-platform, nothing. This new game features dynamic mid‐race changes to the course, more online tournaments, and nostalgic retro circuits that come back for a flash of remembrance. Don’t forget that it’s a literal open-world Mario Kart game!

2. Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4

Toby Fox’s enigmatic RPG series takes a bold new leap as Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4 arrive on PS5, PS4, Switch, Switch 2, and PC. Releasing on the same day as the Switch 2, the chapters will continue the current saga arc, introducing new characters, intricate puzzles, and a more detailed soundtrack. Fans have been waiting almost 4 years for these upcoming games, so it’s safe to say many people will be playing this first!

3. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition

Following last year’s resurgence, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition brings CD Projekt Red’s cyberpunk open-world classic to Switch 2 with all DLCs. While it’s not technically fully new, you can still expect performance optimization, graphical optimization, and the exciting Phantom Liberty expansion!

4. Parallel Experiment

Parallel Experiment invites players into a mind-bending 2 player puzzle in which one player influences another’s world in real-time, challenging collaboration and communication skills. Cross-play across Switch 2, PC, and mobile enables an open community from day one. Not many games do this, especially when it feels like the couch (and online technically) co-op niche gets smaller and smaller every day. Definitely one of the more unique titles with many upcoming games!

5. Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut

Sega’s Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut releases the prequel on the Switch 2 with refreshed graphics, additional story chapters, and side activities directed at modern-day audiences. Leasing the upgraded CPU of the console, the fight scenes at an upgraded 60 fps dynamic resolution scaling provide smooth performance.

6. Street Fighter 6 (Years 1–2 Fighters Edition)

One of CAPCOM’s upcoming games, which is all about that fighting sensation, Street Fighter 6, arrives on Switch 2 with the Years 1–2 Fighters Edition on June 5. It includes all the post-launch character passes, more battle stages, and fresh “World Tour” content.

7. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma

Natsume’s farm-style-action RPG Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma finally releases on PC, Switch, and Switch 2 on June 5 after a brief delay. Players can expect more endgame content, co-op multiplayer options, and quality-of-life changes.

Why June 5, 2025 Matters

Other than the obvious Switch 2 release date, releasing multiple game titles at the same time can generate unprecedented hype and cross-promotion, driving pre-orders and energizing community growth.

To developers and publishers, clustering releases creates a shared media focus, and to gamers, a full release schedule means a festive environment, one day to browse through tutorials, go back to beloved worlds, and hear about new IPs, all without having to wait weeks or months in between!
