World of Warcraft update from Blizzard Entertainment

Blizzard Statement Over Duplicate Bug In World Of Warcraft Great VaultĀ

World of Warcraft is one of the world’s most popular massive multiplayer online role-playing games ever created. Since its release in 2004, the world has grown with no less than ten expansions. Once a character is created, making your way in such a massive world in player-versus-player or environment is challenging. However, no matter how good you are in this magical game or in other games, there is nothing more terrible than when you come face to face with THE BUG. Even in one of the most successful games, it hasn’t been completely flawless. In The World of Warcraft’s Azeroth, there is The Great Vault, and things haven’t been working so well in its bountiful rewards.

Blizzard set out with EverQuest to create an open world with various monsters, quests, dungeons, and an ever-changing landscape. Once the game was released, it quickly caught fire as the most popular MMORPG game, peaking at 12 million players in six years. Instead of burning out, its popularity grew in 2017 to almost 10 billion in revenue, making it the highest-grossing video game of all time. Not only that, it was given the title of the most popular game ever.

How It Works

Just like in most games, things start out by creating a character, each embodying their own talents and skills that can grow with the character’s growth. Then there are the opportunities for professions, and skills adding to the character’s game and economic prowess in interacting with others. Once a player gets into the swing of their character in the game, they can join other players with greater risks for better rewards in guilds, searching Dungeons, and challenging Raids.

In the game, there are quests that offer the greatest experience, leveling up your character, and usually involve non-playable characters. Once completed, they also give some of the greatest rewards for the characters. These rewards enhance the character in a variety of ways, such as armor, skill, or increasing their abilities. Much of the game is naturally players setting out for the best treasure, giving them the most advantageous edge, especially in a player vs player environment. So in the game, you know that things are serious when the rewards come from The Great Vault.

The Great Vault

The Great Vault is a weekly reward chest for players that offers one of the most coveted pieces of gear once they complete Raids, Dungeons, or World Content. This Great Vault opens only once a week before it resets. Once you have worked and earned its abundant award, you get a random selection of loot depending on which college you completed. Here is where the bottom falls out, as there has been a Bug in the system.

It seems that once an item is selected in the Vault, you get another exact same item with the same name and stats, and you don’t get to select another reward. You do a week’s worth of gaming work and miss out on a reward because of a bug duplication. For those who have suffered this inconvenience, there is good news.

Take The Win

Blizzard has been aware of the issue and issued a fix, which was scheduled for April 23rd at 7:00 a.m. PDT. There will be a short downtime, and once things are back online, the Vault should be squared away, offering more variations on items. There is one problem, though: Blizzard will not assist in rerolling or modifying past items awarded, so if you did get a double item in the past, there are no refunds or exchanges.

However, you can take this as a win as it won’t be happening anymore, and some of the best game loot in the business is back the way it should be. Stay gaming out there and keep the loot rolling in the best way you know how.
