Only 1 Proven Way to Get the Marvel Rivals Cyan Clash Venom and White Witch — Are You Ready?
If there’s one thing NetEase’s Marvel Rivals does consistently, it’s releasing micro-transactions and premium content. Although given away free, the Cyan Clash Venom and White Witch are desired by fans to be purchasable in store. Furthermore, the battle passes are now packed with a wide variety of costumes and other generous rewards. NetEase has also introduced mini-battle passes known as Combat Chests, while adding at least two new costumes to the shop each week. It might not be on Fortnite’s level of extras, but it’s still more than what most free-to-play games are offering right now.
On Youtube, the Rivals Assembled channel recently had a chance to interview the Creative Director of Marvel Rivals, Guangguang, and at the end of the video, asked him about the rare costumes on the game. Long story short, the current plan is to keep the Cyan Clash Venom and White Witch (Scarlet Witch) exclusive to the players who participated in the closed Alpha and Beta versions of the game. Meaning, those two particular costumes will never return to the store as long as they hold true to that statement. But read on.
Many players are left disappointed and wondering—is that fair? It’s understandable that Guangguang and NetEase want to reward players for their time and effort, but shouldn’t they be given a different type of aesthetic distinction? Similar to the ranked crest that can be placed on a banner, it would be more meaningful to give Alpha and Beta players a unique crest that could be attached to the far left of their banner. It would be more noticeable and truly serve as a mark that sets them apart from the rest of the player base.”
At the same time, some may see this as unfair to players who knew about the game’s closed Alpha and Beta but couldn’t join—either due to platform limitations or other restrictions. Many of these players would likely have committed the time to play if they had been given the chance. Finally, what if Marvel Rivals ever releases on the Nintendo Switch 2? Those players were never given a chance at the alpha or beta.
What’s the Deal with Cyan Clash Venom and White Witch?

In case you are a newer Marvel Rivals player and aren’t familiar with these two costumes, here’s a breakdown of them.
The Cyan Clash Venom has a bluish tint and was made specifically for Marvel Rivals, meaning its design has no direct reference in the comics. However, it does resemble comic book versions of Venom in a particular way, whether that was NetEase’s intention or not. In many comic appearances, especially during the 1990s, Venom’s black costume often featured cyan-blue highlights to create contrast and depth with the black symbiote suit.
On the other hand, the White Witch costume for Scarlet Witch is modeled after a comic book design from Marvel Comics’ X-Men: The Trial of Magneto (2021), issue #4. It features a grayish-white main hue complemented by her signature scarlet red accents.
Both of these costumes look great, and many Rivals players will likely be disappointed if they never return to the shop. There’s certainly strong revenue potential for NetEase, judging by all the player discussion around wanting to own them. Not to mention, as the player base grows, newer players who end up maining Venom or Scarlet Witch, or who simply enjoy them from the comics, will wish they had a chance to get these two costumes. That being said, you never know. Money talks, and if there’s enough pushback from the community, it’s not impossible for these two costumes to return, even if only for one last time, similar to the Galactic Captain America and Galactic Hawkeye skins.
