Weekly Free Games on the Epic Games Store Jan 15 – Jan 22, 2026
It’s that time of week again, gamer friends. The Epic Games Store has TWO free games available to claim this week, and you don’t want to be the one who misses out! These two are available until January 22, 2026
Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness can both be claimed through your Epic Games Store launcher right now. But, be warned that you will have to confirm your birthdate when you view these titles in the store. They’re both rated Mature 17+. And both are Windows only (sorry Mac users).
Styx: Master of Shadows
In Styx: Master of Shadows, you’ll play as Styx, a 200-year-old goblin on a two-fold quest. You’re searching for information about your own past and the opportunity to make a profit. What could be more goblinish than that?
This is an action-adventure with a strong emphasis on stealth. You’ll explore the many levels of the Tower of Akenash. Humans and Elves are protecting the World-Tree, which is the source of something called Amber. It’s powerful, magical, and you want some to enhance your own abilities. While you’re there, you’ll have questions like finding information or assassinating people. Of course, you’ll improve your abilities and equipment as you go.
Styx: Shards of Darkness – Deluxe Edition
Take on the role of Styx again in a whole new adventure. This time, you’ll adventure across open environments, including an Elven city and Dwarven territory. The game uses the Unreal 4 engine to bring these environments to life.
This Deluxe Edition includes some bonuses:
“The Akenash Outfit: here’s the one-and-only, classic outfit from Styx’s first adventure! Whenever Styx summons a clone, its duration before disappearing is increased.
The Dagger of Akenash: Styx’s first dagger. Old yet sturdy, this rusty blade was dragged through miles of infested marshes. This caused it to be covered in all manner of deadly acid.Anyone killed with the Dagger of Akenash will dissolve instantly.”
Both games look like an incredible amount of fun. Being able to sneak around, engaging in roguish activities, will scratch an itch for adventure that few games seem to.
How to Claim Freebies From the Epic Games Store
Whether you want to play on your PC, Mac, Android, or iOS device, you can find the download information on the Epic Games Store website. If you’re on a computer, you can download the Epic Games Launcher to access and play your games. I know that’s not exactly shocking, and you probably figured that out already.
For the mobile games, you’ll need the QR code. Use the camera on your mobile device to scan the QR code, which will direct you to the download page. You will have to enable downloads from other sources. (Other than the native app store, that is.) This app isn’t available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. After installing the app, launch it, sign in, and then scroll down to find the current free game.
