Will Metroid Prime 4 Get Another Annoying Delay? Nintendo Claims They’re Still Committed to 2025 Release
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Switch 2 titles, but Nintendo has been hesitant to give us a concrete release date. After the game has gone through production troubles and delays, it will supposedly be released later this year. However, despite Nintendo’s claims, fans can’t help but wonder if another delay is imminent.
Nintendo:Â Metroid Prime 4 “Available Later in 2025”
In a press release advertising Fan Expo Canada, the company stated that “Fan Expo attendees will be able to play upcoming games like Metroid Primeâ„¢ 4: Beyond (available later in 2025).” The press release didn’t specify if this will be a playable demo or the final version of the game. Although they clearly say that Metroid Prime 4 will be “available later in 2025,” the lack of a specific release date is making fans wary.
Metroid Prime 4‘s Troubled Production
Metroid Prime 4 was first announced at E3 back in 2017. Initially under production with Bandai Namco, the project was restarted in 2029 under Retro Studios after development reportedly failed to live up to Nintendo’s standards. After that, the project went largely silent for a number of years, but we finally got a full trailer earlier this year. Some people were hoping that the game would be available shortly after the Switch 2‘s release, but it’s been two months since the console’s debut, and we still don’t have a concrete release date.
Conclusion
The year is more than half over, and Nintendo still hasn’t given us a release date. Even if there will be a playable version available at Fan Expo Canada, no one should be surprised if Metroid Prime 4 is delayed once again. Still, even if we don’t get the game this year, we can probably reasonably expect the game early next year. If not, well, we can play Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, two incredibly stellar games, in the meantime.
