Town to City: A Cozy Builder With Blocky Charm and Big Imagination

Town to City: LEGO-Like Charm and Town-Building Fun – Gamescom 2025

When you first glimpse Town and City, you’d be forgiven for thinking it looks like a LEGO game. After all, the buildings and people look like they’re made of little square blocks. However, this city-building game is completely separate from LEGO, though it still looks like it’s full of charm.

The Town to City Trailer

The Early Access trailer was featured in the Future Game Show showcase at Gamescom 2025. It showed us a beautiful little world that, at first glance, might look like it was made of LEGO bricks. In fact, when I saw the first few seconds of the trailer, I seriously thought it was a LEGO game, perhaps based on the old LEGO Friends toy line. However, Town to City is its own world where you construct your own town from the ground up, manage resources, and make sure your residents are happy.

Let Your Creativity Flourish

This looks like a cozy game that will emphasize creativity. The trailer displayed some of the towns that were built by players, and there seemed to be a lot of possible variety. You can also add fun touches like Ferris wheels, hedge mazes, and fountains. Your residents will also make requests for things they want in their town, so you might have to balance out people’s happiness while flexing your creative muscles. The blocky aesthetic is pleasing to the eye, making the towns a pleasure to look at.

From Start To Finish

Town to City might not be the most innovative town-building game out there, but it certainly looks to be full of charm. I enjoy a good cozy game and I enjoy a good creativity game, so I might have to check this one out. You can play the demo right now on Steam, and the game goes into Early Access on September 16. While Town to City doesn’t have a full release date yet, I imagine that they will be adding plenty more features during Early Access to make the game as good as it can be.
