4 Incredible Xbox Games Showcase Highlights At Summer Games Fest 2025

While the clock ticks down the seconds to the reveal of the Xbox Games Showcase, fans in the Summer Games Fest audience are vibrating in their seats with anticipation, and indeed, once that timer drops down to zero, the showcase doesn’t disappoint. Opening with an attention-grabbing trailer for Outer Worlds 2, an adventure made by Capitalism for Capitalism, the Xbox Games Showcase goes on to give us everything we might ever want, along with an introduction to the Xbox Ally, a handheld Xbox console to bring life to the concept of ‘play anywhere’.

With well over twenty titles in the X Box Games Showcase, the below are just a few of the ones that made us squeal in our seats here at Total Apex. Check it out for yourself and see if you get excited for the same ones we do, or if something else steals your heart and makes you salivate at the thought of holding an Xbox Ally in your own two hands.

#1: The Blood of the Dawnwalker

The brilliant spectacle of Outer Worlds 2 aside, The Blood of the Dawnwalker was a standout of the upcoming Xbox games to be released for its intriguing take on the world of vampires. In a dark, role-playing fantasy set in 14th-century Europe, you play as Coen, a man who has been bitten by the undead scourge during an outbreak of the Black Plague, but instead of turning like others have before you, you have become ‘something else’.

The game bears the iconic stamp of Witcher 3‘s director, Konrad Tomazkiewicz, and as the trailer unfurls in all its cinematic gameplay, the parallels between this new game from Rebel Wolves and Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt cannot be ignored. With excellently choreographed battles set over the chilly hills of that 14th-century setting, the game looks to be enjoyable enough without the unique perks that being a Dawnwalker gives to our main man, Coen.

The best part of the trailer is watching Coen walk casually up the side of the building in a gravity-defying stunt that promises all-new spatial gameplay alongside the heavy lore and, like the Witcher 3, the trailer promises an emphasis on the player’s making choices that will allow Coen to either embrace the night or fight to bring himself back to the daylight. As Dylan Thomas famously wrote: ‘Do not go gentle into that good night’, at least not until 2026 at any rate.

#2: Indiana Jones and The Great Circle: The Order of The Giants

Look, we’re all Indy fans here, right? The Great Circle was one of those Xbox games that really brought the fun out in the franchise because who the heck hasn’t imagined themselves as the coolest archeologist of all time (sorry Lara), digging through ye ancient tombs and ticking off big ol’ monsters or pulling a gun out in a practical, yet suave, move on a ninja in a marketplace?

The original Indiana Jones and The Great Circle Xbox game got an outstanding set of good reviews across the board, so this new DLC content is highly anticipated, and the trailer fully delivers. The story takes Indiana below the streets of Rome into a fully new labyrinth set with new puzzles and jump scares, which should delight any seasoned gaming archeologist.

The soundtrack takes heavy inspiration from the old movies, just like The Great Circle did, and if the action is anything like The Great Circle, then we can expect some spectacular feats of dexterity from Dr Jones. The question is, will he be performing those feats to get himself away from giants? Guess we’ll find out on 4th September 2025 when the game releases.

#3: Clockwork Revolution

Probably the longest trailer of the Xbox Games showcase, and believe me, it needed all the time it could get. The trailer weaves the tale of a London Town-inspired steampunk setting, in which gang warfare is a staple of everyday life. Big moustaches and bigger guns reign supreme in this time-bending first-person RPG, and as you work your way through the various storylines, you’ll find that with your time-bending abilities, you’re able to change the very face of the town around you until it looks like somewhere completely different.

The trailer shows off an immersive steampunk world with beautiful graphics, brilliantly crafted interactions between gang members and poor civilians caught in the crossfire of some greater controversy, and the time-shifting aspect of the narrative works a bit like Timesplitters, but if Timesplitters had access to Portal technology. The characters are titular and fascinating, drawing in the audience with their fantastic British accents, and the parkour elements look pretty fluid, particularly when you’re able to reverse time and change the landscape directly during gameplay.

This game is an exciting drop, though there was no release date mentioned in the showcase, the trailer simply ends with an ominous ‘coming soon’ and the enraged doll saying: ‘now let me alone and p*** off’. Alright, mate, keep your hair on!

#4: At Fate’s End

Okay, so this Xbox game offering was made by the same people who made Spiritfarer. Nobody panic, oh my God, it’s actually happening. The style immediately stands out as a gorgeous halfway point between Spiritfarer and other indie masterpieces like Gris. The cartoonishness of Spiritfarer has been taken and enhanced into a wonderfully fluid experience, and the lore, whilst light in the trailer, is just enough to be intriguing.

In a step up from Spiritfarer, though, this game seems to put more emphasis on conflict and goodness, does it hit you with the smooth animations for each clashing blow. The gameplay looks varied and interesting, the soundtrack is just as hauntingly melancholy as Spiritfarer’s was, and with the dialogue options available, it looks like this game promises a deep dive into the full, raw psychology of each of its characters in a way that is sure to leave craters on your heart.

The game is due to come out in 2026, though it really is a question of whether or not the players might storm the castle before then to steal the game because the hype is real.

Even More Coming

These are just a small sample of the Xbox games that will be available to play in this upcoming game release season, each title compatible with the new Xbox Ally so that you can hide at the back of a class or lecture room, or maybe under the table in an office, to play your favorite titles. Honorable mentions should be given to the new Elder Scrolls – Season of the Wyrm due in June 2025, Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive due in Fall 2025, Persona 4 Revival for which a release date is TBA, and, of course, Call of Duty Black Ops 7.

So, do any of these take your fancy? Will you be selling your prized possessions so you can afford an Xbox Ally and a whole bunch of these newly released games? We know we’re going to be pawning everything we can to get our dirty mits on as many of these titles as we possibly can. Hopefully, we don’t run into any mustachioed supervillains while we’re at it.
