My Hero Academia Assembles For Overwatch 2

My Hero Academia x Overwatch 2

Following the past crossovers with Cowboy Bebop and One Punch Man, we’ll be getting Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia collab skins in the game during the new Overwatch collaboration. This crossover celebrates the series’ 6th year and its upcoming US localization for the film, My Hero Acadmia: You’re Next.

Overwatch 2 X My Hero Academia: What It Has In Store

As seen in previous anime crossovers, Overwatch 2 handled crossovers and collabs uniquely. Blizzard has their cast of characters cosplaying a franchise’s characters rather than depicting the characters directly. Not only the main lineup of Overwatch will be representing the characters, they are allowing to their support characters to share the spotlight. These promotions allow for other Overwatch characters known for destruction to be well-matched with a My Hero Academia (MHA) character fitting their behavior and style.

Blizzard has made a few solid picks representing both villains and heroes of Shonen Jump’s favorite superhero series. However, these skins will only be available during the Overwatch 2 X My Hero Academia collab.

Overwatch 2 X My Hero Academia Skins

  • Deku: Tracer will be cosplaying as Deku during the Overwatch 2 X My Hero Academia collab. The DPS hero will be a great classic design for the My Hero Academia protagonist.
  • Uravity: The gravity defying heroine who supports Deku on his rescue ops. A perfect skin for the space ranger, Juno.
  • All Might: Reinhardt’s new skin would be the well-known hero, All Might. Although he has a fair share of crossover skins already, his bigger frame matches All-Might’s muscular figure.
  • Toga: The sadistic lieutenant of the Paranormal Liberation Front. Donut ninja saleswoman Kiriko will be dressing up as her for this Halloween season.
  • Shigaraki: Deku’s archnemesis who follows the path of villainy rather than heroism. The dual-wielding assassin Reaper will be his representative. Fitting for a character focused on destruction and shares a rivalry with Tracer.

All of these skins will be available for a limited time. The Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia costumes will run from October 17th to the 30th. As seen in the trailer, Blizzard made good choices regarding the MHA characters depicted during the crossover.

MHA skins are included in a Mega bundle. Players can earn sprays and charms if they play Overwatch during the crossover event to redeem them. Although a few bucks would have to be spent to obtain the My Hero Academia skins is worth the aesthetics and players are not going to regret it.

All skins provided by Overwatch 2 are a visual depiction of the MHA characters themselves, but in this case, on Overwatch 2 characters. And that, in and of itself, makes it even more interesting. Two hero series come together to provide die-hard fans to play as their heroes matching their personalities and skillsets. That’s nothing but a dream come true for true fans of both the anime and the game, itself.
