Pac’s Revenge: Debut Game From Kennesaw State Student

Pac's Revenge, the debut game from Kennesaw State students

Pac’s Revenge isn’t a game that has been on wishlists for years. However, it might be a game to put on your radar. In one of my deep internet dives, I stumbled across an article about a student from Kennesaw State University, Luke Gamage, who created a game that is debuting on Steam in April 2025. For so many students, creating a game is a lifelong dream. Gamage took a class project and turned it into a design studio, ByteSize Games. Ahead of the release, here’s what you need to know.

What Is Pac’s Revenge?

Pac’s Revenge is a retro-style, first-person shooter where players will be blasting wave after wave of demons. A dark evil is trying to take over your world, and it is up to you to stop it. Your job is to grab your gun and get to the center of the facility. There are multiple weapons you can acquire, and you’ll do it all while jamming to heavy metal music, creating an ambience that feels like the game Doom.

There are three modes of difficulty to challenge pro gamers, and the developers have promised achievements galore as well. The first screenshots of the game look awesome. The nostalgia is real, as the art style brings you back to a simpler time. However, a simpler time doesn’t mean a simple game. There will be no shortage of monsters and demons lurking around every corner of the facility.

Kennesaw State Roots

Gamage and his team of three others at ByteSize Games started the project for a class, but it grew a life of its own. “It started out as just a class project, but we all loved the idea so much we decided to keep working on it after the semester ended,” Gamage said to a Kennesaw State news member. “The game just felt special, and we knew it had the potential to be something more.” After months of getting the logistics worked out, the game is finally ready for release.

Final Thoughts

“We’re all incredibly excited to finally get it into people’s hands,” Gamage said. “It’s been a long road, but it feels great to see it all coming together.” The hard work is about to pay off. This is a cool story. It’s one thing to dream about making a game, but another to sit down and do it. This is no small feat. If you’re looking for a new game this month, check out Pac’s Revenge on Steam. You can wishlist it now. While an official release date has not been given, Gamage indicates it will be this month. Wishlist the game now to know exactly when you can grab your gun and save the world from demons and monsters.
